AUTUMN 2017 TREND GUIDE | STREET CHIC

I’m back tonight with the first of many AUTUMN 2017 TREND GUIDES coming to JustineCelina this year and I couldn’t be more excited to share it! I look different — and I certainly feel different as well. Since taking the plunge and indulging in the eyelash skimming fringe I’d been lusting after since the summer, I’m finding myself completely renergized when it comes to all things fashion, style and beauty. So, we’re changing things up around here — this TREND GUIDE is dedicated to refreshing your personal style for a new season! In addition to diving head first into a handful of this season’s hottest trends, I’m also sharing my favourite ways to revitalize my look without breaking the bank (I shopped my own closet to pull this look together — gotta love that!).

COLOURPOP SUPER SHOCK SHADOW PHOTOS, REVIEW, SWATCHES | 22 SHADES!

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve published a dedicated beauty review, but this is one has been on my list for the better part of 2017! Today I’m thrilled to share a comprehensive review of one of my all time favourite eyeshadow formulas — the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows. I fell head over heels for Colourpop in 2015 (just browse the JustineCelina BEAUTY archives!), went absolutely crazy and purchased about a million of their eyeshadows (and lip products, and highlighters, and… well, you get the idea!). Since then, this innovative, affordable LA based brand has exploded and now offers 90 Super Shock Shadow shades (and trust me, I’ve had to restrain myself from buying almost every single one!). I’ve owned many of their Super Shock Shadows since 2015 — some of which I’ve completely used up (and had to repurchase) and some that are now discontinued. So today, I’m sharing reviews, photos and swatches of the 22 shades I own that are currently available!

Colourpop’s Super Shock Shadows retail at $5.00 USD for 2.1g (0.074oz) and the quality is truly incomparable to anything on the market today. In 2015 when they first launched, the formula was completely revolutionary — a creme-powder with a unique bouncy texture. The pigmentation is intense, the shades are unique and they wear all day (and night) without fading or creasing. They’re also cruelty free and handmade in LA. I haven’t actually published reviews on most of my favourite shades here at JustineCelina because they don’t really fall into my Monthly Favourites category (since they’re staples I reach for regularly, sometimes products like this slip through the cracks!), so I figured it was about time to introduce you. SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE | WEEKEND WEAR

Welcome back for another SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE, everyone! It’s been a beautiful summer here in Calgary and personally, I’m not even close to being ready for fall. I said the same thing last summer, but fall doesn’t officially arrive for over a month and I’m in absolutely no rush to get there. So while the fashion industry (and many fellow bloggers ) are gearing up for autumn, here at JustineCelina I’m planning to enjoy summer for as long as possible! You can expect one more SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE later this month, along with a new post in my WHAT TO WEAR TO series — this time, I’m styling a look for late summer weddings.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! My goal through publishing these TREND GUIDES is to keep you (and myself!) up to speed on the latest trends while also staying true to my personal style. And I’m sure by now, you must understand my love of white, stripes and oversized straw bags! Although this look features a lot of the same trends as my Spring 2017 Trend Guide | Casual Chic (which I styled for more professional settings), this is a look I’d typically reserve for weekends. And if I’m honest, I’ve repeated this exact outfit several times already this summer! Hang onto summer a little longer today as I chat about how to style breezy stripes, summer whites, embellished straw bags (I actually DIYed this one!), straw, rattan and jute accessories, espadrilles and boho braids in this relaxed weekend look!

WATERMELON FROSÉ MARGARITAS

You guys, this week has been such a whirlwind! Between spending time in the prairies working ahead on some exciting new projects, capturing tons of content for JustineCelina, publishing 3 blog posts, speaking at a YYC Blogger Babes event last night about The Business of Blogging and attending another event earlier today for a new partnership — I’m totally having a cocktail (or two) tonight as I finish up this post!

If you’ve been following along with my Insta Stories this summer, you’ve undoubtedly seen me whip up a Watermelon Frosé Margarita. She was a fun recipe to test and a fast favourite among friends and family — a pretty, pink cocktail gone rogue! This time, my Connecting Over Cocktails crew and I are serving up an array of seasonal, fruity cocktails for our Summer Edition and I knew I wanted to do something a bit different. Today I’m shaking things up with my Watermelon Frosé Margaritas — an icy sangria 2.0 with an attitude, and tequila on her breath! In true JustineCelina style, she’s made with just 5 ingredients blended over frozen watermelon creating a naturally sweet, feisty summer cocktail that embraces fruity flavours with a margarita essence and a Himalayan pink salted rim! SUMMER 2017 MEGA SHOE GUIDE | 30 PAIRS!

Shoe lovers, you’re in for a treat today! I’m thrilled to bring you my SUMMER 2017 MEGA SHOE GUIDE — the largest SHOE GUIDE yet here at JustineCelina including 30 pairs (yes, really!) of on trend shoe options for Summer 2017. I think it’s fair to say I’m a shoe girl! I love publishing shoe related content because it’s so inclusive — everyone looks and feels great in a fantastic pair of shoes. Shoes are my favourite accessory; the right pair totally completes an outfit and gives me an extra spring in my step! And not to worry — there are lots of flat, comfortable styles included as well. SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE | KIMONO LOVE

Things I’m happy about today: it’s almost the long weekend, the weather is gorgeous, and I’m wearing a kimono! I’m not ashamed to admit I have 13 kimonos currently hanging in my closet — they’ve been my most worn summer item for as long as I can remember and I love to collect them (I even have a few vintage kimonos!). Naturally, I’m elated to bring you my first SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE today highlighting one of my favourite seasonal trends — luxe, loungewear inspired kimonos! Like ponchos, kimonos have always been a staple in my wardrobe, regardless of whether or not they’re particularly on trend that season.

Those of you who know me personally are probably used to seeing me in kimonos, especially during the warmer months. So, I used one of my favourite kimonos as a statement piece in today’s post and paired it up with a handful of summer trends — including bold botanical prints, fringe hem denim, mules, millennial pink, eyelet, tassels, circular cross body bags, hexagon sunglasses and sunset inspired makeup. NEW YEAR, NEW GOALS: CULTIVATING A BALANCED 2017

So we’re half way into the first month of a fresh new year — how’s everyone doing? Did you set new goals, intentions and resolutions for 2017, or are you not really into that whole thing? Each year, I take the beginning of January as an opportunity to reflect on the year prior and evaluate how I can continue to grow and better myself in the upcoming year (if you’ve been with me since last year, you may remember my New Year, New Goals: Planning for a Successful 2016 post). I truly embrace the inherent fresh start that a new year provides and while I make it a priority to check in with myself often, a major overhaul was needed this year! I think the start of a new year is just as good a time as any to reflect, evaluate and set fresh intentions.

Today I’m sharing 5 goals and plans I’ve created for myself with then intention of cultivating more balance in my life in 2017 (and beyond!), plus what I’ve already done to work towards them. I’m also sharing some of my favourite planning, scheduling and creative tools to help me maximize my time, get organized, grow creatively and stay inspired!
