H&M WILDFLOWER COLLECTION REVIEW

Friends and fashionistas, I’m thrilled to share my first FASHION post of 2021 with you (it’s about time, isn’t it?!) dedicated to H&M‘s ultra dreamy A Meadow of Wildflowers Collection! Although my personal style and shopping habits have changed significantly as a result of the pandemic, I eagerly comprised my wishlist as soon as I saw previews of this collection pop up online last month. H&M‘s Wildflower Collection is a Spring 2021 release hailing from their Conscious range — featuring elegant, timeless silhouettes made from 100% organic cotton and linen, inspired by their print designers favourite wildflowers recreated in watercolour. Of all the limited edition collections H&M has released (many of which I’ve worn, loved and featured here at JustineCelina over the years!) this the collection of dreams for my free-spirited, art college educated, flower loving soul!

As soon as the (partial) collection arrived online in Canada, I ordered every piece on my wishlist available in my sizes. Shortly after their arrival, we spent an evening venturing around the stunning natural landscapes near my childhood home in rural Alberta capturing these images — and it felt incredible to get excited about shooting fashion content outdoors after a long winter! As of publication, many of these pieces are now sold out online — and some pieces on my wishlist also aren’t yet available online, but are available in store, so I suggest keeping an eye out for online restocks or using the in-store locator to source specific pieces near you. That said, I wanted to publish my dedicated H&M Wildflower Collection Review for you as soon as possible, so you can use it to inform your collection purchases! SUMMER 2020 LOOKBOOK + STYLE CONTENT UPDATE

Friends and fashionistas, I’m absolutely elated to bring you the first LOOKBOOK I’ve published since April — my Summer 2020 Lookbook! It would be an incredible understatement to say that 2020 hasn’t shaped up the way any of us could have predicted and that our lifestyles have changed dramatically as a result of COVID-19. While FASHION is one of my true loves and lifelong passions, I made the decision to pause my regularly scheduled seasonal LOOKBOOKS from May through August to embrace a slower pace of life, navigate through some incredibly difficult situations and make a conscious effort to be grateful for what I have, while being mindful of my spending. Given the state of the world and the economy, it simply didn’t feel right to promote purchasing new clothing during the height of a pandemic. And to be completely transparent, I was also feeling quite uninspired fashion wise as all of the events, meetings and occasions that would typically inspire my style content had halted — as I’m sure many of you can relate! Although I was able to experiment with self portraiture and push the boundaries of my home studio set up to produce some beautiful content during quarantine, it’s safe to say I reached the limit of how of many chic loungewear outfit ideas or breezy spring dresses I could shoot in my Living Room with my self timer and tripod!

A change of scenery after 3 months of quarantine was exactly what I needed to feel re-inspired — so I packed up and headed to my childhood home in rural Alberta to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the country while capturing my Summer 2020 Lookbook (with my Mom back behind the lens for many of the images I’m sharing today!). This summer I find myself seeking simplicity and comfort in every area of my life — and that’s definitely reflected in my wardrobe. Purchasing timeless, easy to wear pieces in multiple colourways has been a common theme this summer — and I’ve expanded my summer wardrobe with some fantastic, affordable basics I know I’ll enjoy for years to come. While I’ll always enjoy incorporating trends into my wardrobe in a way that’s authentic to my personal style, this year, I find myself increasingly drawn to classic pieces. These days, fashion moves fast — and I find myself moving in exactly the opposite direction as I mindfully curate my wardrobe. I’ve been living in breezy, effortless silhouettes made from linen, cotton and natural, lightweight fabrics — my summer style has never been more casual (or comfortable) and I’m fully embracing it! Adventure to the tranquil Alberta prairies with me today as I fuse my love of free spirited fashion and stunning natural landscapes in my Summer 2020 Lookbook — featuring 12 effortless, accessible, classic seasonal looks, plus tips on how to transition key pieces into autumn. RESORT 2020 LOOKBOOK

¡Buenos días!, amigas! After a wonderfully rejuvenating vacation and some time back on Canadian soil reflecting on all things JustineCelina, I’m back today with a dramatic change of scenery in my impromptu RESORT 2020 LOOKBOOK! As I mentioned in my last post, approaching our vacation I was unsure how much I’d want to share. It was first time in 6 years we’ve taken a week long, unplugged vacation outside of Canada — and I was desperately in need of time offline to decompress, refocus and reconnect. I decided to pack my professional camera last minute to capture images as I felt inspired, but completely relieved myself of content creation pressure. There’s an incredible duality to blogging — and as much as I wanted to capture, create and share content because it’s what I truly love to do, I also wanted to ensure I was actually resting and enjoying my vacation, rather than sharing every experience and working the entire time. While these blurred lines between life and work allow me to live and work in a way that nurtures my passions (one of the main reasons I started this blog in the first place!), they also make lifestyle blogging as a career incredibly tricky to navigate and can inevitably lead to burnout.

I’m happy to report that by our third day, I was itching to bust out my camera and capture content! This trip was incredibly refreshing — we completely lived in the moment and only captured things when we felt inspired to do so. Surprisingly, I actually have quite a few photos and videos from our travels! It was such a valuable experience to let go of my regular content creation routines and just take things as they came — a lesson I’m carrying into my workflow in 2020. So although I would have loved to shoot outfits everyday, today I’m sharing 3 looks (rather than the 6 you’re accustomed to!) we captured in Huatulco — featuring a colourful dose of free spirited, Mexican-inspired fashion, along with a handful of of my vacation essentials! My first LOOKBOOK of the decade fuses TRAVEL and STYLE (as well as some Pantone 2020 Colour of the Year inspiration) for those of those of you jetsetting to a tropical destination this winter. AUTUMN / WINTER 2019 LOOKBOOK

With Winter Solstice in the rear-view, it feels surreal to be publishing my final LOOKBOOK of the decade (isn’t that absolutely wild?!). After a seemingly never ending saga of snowstorms and chinooks over the past month as we approach the holiday season, I’m excited to share what I’ve been wearing during this festive time of year in my 6 outfit Autumn / Winter 2019 Lookbook! OCTOBER 2019 SOUNDTRACK

How is it the end of October?! Another month has flown by — and that means it’s time for another Monthly Soundtrack here at JustineCelina! October was full of lots of BTS work fall content (including our Entrance Way Reveal!) — and these ultra chill, jazzy tunes are what kept me going. My October 2019 Soundtrack is a short n’ sweet 30 track playlist full of ultra chill, mostly instrumental tunes. I discovered Andrew Applepie’s Six Chill Beats EP along with Spotify’s Jazz Vibes playlist this month and I pretty much listened to them on-repeat — honestly, I could have added every single track! LATE SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK

With 3 weeks of summer still to savour, I’m back today with my Late Summer 2019 Lookbook! We started shooting this mammoth project mid-June — and although it’s taken quite some time to process the 2700+ images we took (these LOOKBOOK are definitely labours of love!), I’m absolutely elated to share this 12 outfit, late summer style guide with you today! As usual, it features everything I’ve been wearing and loving in both personal and professional settings over the last couple of months — plus innovative styling tips to help you extend the life of your summer wardrobe as we transition into autumn! My Late Summer 2019 Lookbook is complete with a healthy dose of seasonal trends, plus practical tips on how to wear them into fall, mixed with transitional wardrobe staples and shoppable links at every pricepoint (plus, insider tips about where to score the best end-of-season sales!).

Since I live in a climate where there’s snow covering the ground for 7+ months of the year, I love to make the most of my summer wardrobe (and put as many miles on my open-toed shoes as possible!) while the weather cooperates! Once of my favourite ways to blend summer and autumn is with colour — recently I’ve been really inspired by the Pantone Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 Fashion Colour Trend Report and am taking cues for my transitional style. HOW TO STYLE | CALGARY’S WHITE HAT FOR THE STAMPEDE

Yahoo! The Stampede is in full swing and I’m back today with a fresh post in my HOW TO STYLE series dedicated to Calgary’s iconic White Hat! Whether you’re a seasoned Stampede veteran or have only glimpsed images of the Calgary Stampede from afar, you’ve undoubtedly seen this steadfast symbol of Calgary hospitality donned by many during these festive 10 days. This year I had the pleasure of styling a custom-fit Smithbilt 7x White Felt Hat for my latest article for Tourism Calgary about What to Wear to The Calgary Stampede — and I knew I wanted to bring a comprehensive post to JustineCelina in honour of this quintessentially Calgarian cowboy hat. I know it will remain a treasured piece in my Stampede wardrobe for years to come!

As a born-and-raised Alberta girl and lover of western, bohemian inspired FASHION year-round, I’m thrilled to offer up some fresh Stampede style ideas for 2019. Although I used the White Hat as my ‘anchor piece’ in this look, you can absolutely swap it out for any other western or cowboy hat and achieve the same effect!
