THE ULTIMATE GIRLS DAY AT SAKS FIFTH AVENUE CALGARY

Happy sunny Monday, beautiful people! If it seemed a little quiet around here during the beginning of April, I was working on a few exciting projects BTS — this one included. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world being treated to The Ultimate Girls Day at SAKS Fifth Avenue with Tourism Calgary — and today I’m thrilled to share my experience with you!

After what has quite possibly been the longest winter in Calgary’s history, I’m sure we’re all in need of a little pampering — am I right ladies and gents? If you’re anything like me, spring evokes the desire to refresh your wardrobe, beauty routine and skin in preparation for the balmier weather that lies ahead. Last month, I had the opportunity to indulge in the ultimate girls day at the newly opened, 115 000 square foot SAKS Fifth Avenue located in Calgary’s CF Chinook Centre — the first location in Western Canada. WINTER 2018 TREND GUIDE | RED HOT

Fellow fashionistas, welcome back for the first TREND GUIDE of 2018! If the new year has you itching to upgrade your personal style or educate yourself about what’s hot this winter, you’ve come to the right place! Today I’m styling a handful of my favourite winter-to-spring trends in a colourful, artistic look — including red, chenille, berets, circular details, distressed hems and sock boots (I marched right into 2018 wearing my favourite pair!). I’m also sharing some of my favourite cold weather beauty staples and a look ahead at spring colour trends as forecasted by Pantone (because although it’s a new year, some things never change!).

HOW TO STYLE | KIMONOS FOR AUTUMN

Friends, I’ve never been more excited to share a FASHION post here at JustineCelina as I am today! If you follow along via my socials, you’ll know that we took a trip to the Alberta Badlands on an unseasonably warm (and windy!) day last week to shoot some new autumn style content. This look is the first of 3 captured against this stunning landscape that will be rolling out over the next month or so — and they’re some of my favourite images we’ve ever created, fashion wise! Today’s post also marks the revival of my HOW TO STYLE series — where I take specific on-trend item that you might not think you can pull off, may be intimidated by, or may not think is wearable for a certain season. If you frequent my style archives, you’ll know just how much I love kimonos — but did you know they’re actually one of my favourite pieces to wear year round? Today I’m sharing my best tips and tricks for styling kimonos for autumn, as well as a handful of my favourite casual fall wardrobe staples!

I mentioned earlier in October that since cutting my fringe I feel completely reinspired fashion wise. I’d always wanted take a trip to the Badlands to capture style content and I figured an 18°C day in October was as good a time as any! Typically, we photograph style content as I’m actually wearing things (it’s more authentic to me that way), but I was itching to try something new. So, I packed up the car with outfits and gear — and we headed an hour northwest of my childhood home in rural Alberta to the Drumheller area for a change of scenery. As we journeyed into the desert and beautiful backdrops unfolded around every turn I marveled at how traveling just a couple of hours can really inspire the content and it’s something I want to do a lot more of in the future! SUMMER 2017 MEGA SHOE GUIDE | 30 PAIRS!

Shoe lovers, you’re in for a treat today! I’m thrilled to bring you my SUMMER 2017 MEGA SHOE GUIDE — the largest SHOE GUIDE yet here at JustineCelina including 30 pairs (yes, really!) of on trend shoe options for Summer 2017. I think it’s fair to say I’m a shoe girl! I love publishing shoe related content because it’s so inclusive — everyone looks and feels great in a fantastic pair of shoes. SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE | KIMONO LOVE

Things I’m happy about today: it’s almost the long weekend, the weather is gorgeous, and I’m wearing a kimono! I’m not ashamed to admit I have 13 kimonos currently hanging in my closet — they’ve been my most worn summer item for as long as I can remember and I love to collect them (I even have a few vintage kimonos!). Naturally, I’m elated to bring you my first SUMMER 2017 TREND GUIDE today highlighting one of my favourite seasonal trends — luxe, loungewear inspired kimonos! Like ponchos, kimonos have always been a staple in my wardrobe, regardless of whether or not they’re particularly on trend that season.

Those of you who know me personally are probably used to seeing me in kimonos, especially during the warmer months. So, I used one of my favourite kimonos as a statement piece in today’s post and paired it up with a handful of summer trends — including bold botanical prints, fringe hem denim, mules, millennial pink, eyelet, tassels, circular cross body bags, hexagon sunglasses and sunset inspired makeup. WINTER STYLE STAPLES

Let me preface this post by saying that I do not like the cold. I tend to run cold in the first place, no matter the season (I seriously sleep big, cozy sweaters and multiple pairs of socks!). But what I do love about winter is the fashion — the opportunity to dress well, bundle up and experiment with layering different textures, fabrics and proportions. And although it still gets dark around 4pm (oh Calgary, aren’t you charming in January?!), I also love the warm, golden afternoon light juxtaposed against the frosty, white backdrop of my city! It almost makes up for having to shoot winter style content in -25 °C weather (ha!).

While I’m all for keeping up with the trends, today’s post is dedicated to my trusted Winter Style Staples — items I purchase each year in different colours or interpretations, as well as the investment pieces I look forward to pulling out when it gets chilly. HOW TO STYLE | JUMPSUITS

It’s that magical time of year in Calgary. Flowers are still in bloom, the weather is mild and the leaves are just starting to yellow. I can’t complain about September’s temperatures so far (we enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio right after we shot this post), but there’s a definite crispness in the air and a few crunchy leaves at my feet. I personally love this time of year, especially for fashion. And while I’m not quite ready to embrace autumn’s knits, boots and scarves, I’ve been pairing my summer favourites with lighter layers and a more autumnal colour palette during this transitional month. Today’s post is another installment in my HOW TO STYLE series — where I’m chatting about how to style jumpsuits and culotte silhouettes. I’m also sharing a few tips on how I like to transition more summery pieces like jumpsuits, maxis and rompers into autumn!
