HERE COMES THE SUN

After 10 days of rain and some crazy storms here in Alberta, I took full advantage of a few brief days of sunshine earlier this week. Today I’m chatting about carefree summer style and my favourite easy pieces to wear on hot summer days. You know, those simple ‘one and done’ pieces that practically style themselves — you can just throw them on and go? That’s what today’s post is all about! I’m also sharing some great accessories to add interest to easy summer outfits along with my go-to pair of oversized shades. FAUX FUR + DISTRESSED DENIM

My personal style is pretty eclectic. I’m all about mixing it up! I get bored easily, and I like to wear a lot of different styles — that applies to both fashion and beauty. I’ve always been a bit of a chameleon, and I totally channel that into my look! I dress according to my mood, and have a lot of versatile piece in my closet that allow me to keep things fresh without having to buy a new wardrobe each season. I also like to mix high and low, old and new, and sophisticated with casual. That’s what today’s look is all about — I’m wearing plaid with patent, fringe with faux fur, and berry lips with boyfriend jeans! I think fashion should be fun, and I love combining different styles in unexpected ways.

COMFORT ZONE

Sometimes you just want to be really comfortable, am I right?! While I absolutely love dressing up, there are many occasions when I still want to look put together, but be comfortable and cozy (like a casual Thanksgiving dinner, for example — when I wore this exact outfit!). Today I’m chatting about my favourite comfortable, elevated basics for autumn. I love to add lots of texture and interest to my outfits with light layers and versatile accessories — my favourite pieces are made from soft, comfortable fabric, and their unique details make them more interesting than your basic leggings and oversized tee. Curl up with a big latte and let’s chat about laid-back fall style!
