DIGITAL BLOOMS OCTOBER 2020 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER

Good morning, flower friends! I’m thrilled to bring you October 2020’s Free Floral Wallpaper today — featuring an entirely local selection of flowers, wild grasses and foraged prairie foliage in celebration of harvest season. Last month you read all about our trip to Bowden SunMaze & Eagle Creek Farms where I handpicked the flowers you’ll see in my Autumn 2020 Digital Blooms here at JustineCelina — and I couldn’t be more excited to begin sharing them with you! My first u-pick flower experience was absolutely magical and I had so much fun strolling up and down the rows, clippers in hand, curating ingredients for my upcoming FLOWER content. That weekend, I foraged our country property for wild additions as the fall colours were just starting to trickle in to the landscape — and I came home with a bucket full of wild grasses, berries and early autumn foliage to play with. I also spent the weekend painting some new custom backdrops in a palette inspired by the Pantone Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 Colour Trend Report, which you’ll see in my content moving forward — starting with October 2020’s Digital Blooms!

Happy September 1st, flower lovers! This transitional month where summer meets autumn is my absolute favourite of the year — and I’m thrilled to usher in a brand new season with September 2020’s Free Floral Wallpaper. AUGUST 2O2O SOUNDTRACK

As the final full month of summer comes to a close, I’m thrilled to bring you another MONTHLY SOUNTRACK! My August 2020 Soundtrack features a mash up of 60 tracks spanning genres from ultra chill instrumental to explicit hip-hop — an eclectic melange of tunes that have been pumping through my speakers all month long. I’ve been spending my days making the most of all this beautiful season has to offer while working away on lots of exciting projects and upcoming content (including a seasonally inspired SPACE REFRESH, which you can catch a glimpse of in this month’s album cover!) that I can’t wait to share with you as we transition into autumn. This nearly 4 hours playlist has been integral in keeping my ears (and mind) entertained and inspired this month as I putter away on various creative pursuits and enjoy the great outdoors!

SUMMER 2020 LOOKBOOK + STYLE CONTENT UPDATE

Friends and fashionistas, I’m absolutely elated to bring you the first LOOKBOOK I’ve published since April — my Summer 2020 Lookbook! It would be an incredible understatement to say that 2020 hasn’t shaped up the way any of us could have predicted and that our lifestyles have changed dramatically as a result of COVID-19. While FASHION is one of my true loves and lifelong passions, I made the decision to pause my regularly scheduled seasonal LOOKBOOKS from May through August to embrace a slower pace of life, navigate through some incredibly difficult situations and make a conscious effort to be grateful for what I have, while being mindful of my spending. Given the state of the world and the economy, it simply didn’t feel right to promote purchasing new clothing during the height of a pandemic. And to be completely transparent, I was also feeling quite uninspired fashion wise as all of the events, meetings and occasions that would typically inspire my style content had halted — as I’m sure many of you can relate! Although I was able to experiment with self portraiture and push the boundaries of my home studio set up to produce some beautiful content during quarantine, it’s safe to say I reached the limit of how of many chic loungewear outfit ideas or breezy spring dresses I could shoot in my Living Room with my self timer and tripod!

A change of scenery after 3 months of quarantine was exactly what I needed to feel re-inspired — so I packed up and headed to my childhood home in rural Alberta to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the country while capturing my Summer 2020 Lookbook (with my Mom back behind the lens for many of the images I’m sharing today!). This summer I find myself seeking simplicity and comfort in every area of my life — and that’s definitely reflected in my wardrobe. Purchasing timeless, easy to wear pieces in multiple colourways has been a common theme this summer — and I’ve expanded my summer wardrobe with some fantastic, affordable basics I know I’ll enjoy for years to come. While I’ll always enjoy incorporating trends into my wardrobe in a way that’s authentic to my personal style, this year, I find myself increasingly drawn to classic pieces. These days, fashion moves fast — and I find myself moving in exactly the opposite direction as I mindfully curate my wardrobe. I’ve been living in breezy, effortless silhouettes made from linen, cotton and natural, lightweight fabrics — my summer style has never been more casual (or comfortable) and I’m fully embracing it! Adventure to the tranquil Alberta prairies with me today as I fuse my love of free spirited fashion and stunning natural landscapes in my Summer 2020 Lookbook — featuring 12 effortless, accessible, classic seasonal looks, plus tips on how to transition key pieces into autumn. DIGITAL BLOOMS AUGUST 2020 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER

Flower friends, welcome back for an extra cheerful August Edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS! Shifting gears from July’s prairie-inspired Edition, this month I wanted to create something extra bright, joyful and uplifting inspired by summer’s blooming gardens. August 2020’s Digital Blooms feature a lovely array of some of very favourite flowers — including White Ranunculus, Yellow Butterfly Ranunculus (learn All About Ranunculus), Blush and White Tulips (learn All About Tulips) along with Quicksand and Yellow Spray Roses (learn All About Roses) arranged with whimsy. There’s something about the combination of blush pinks, yellow and cream that feels quintessentially summer to me — it’s a palette I also find myself enjoying in my wardrobe and home at this time of year!

CREAMY COCONUT MANGO MEZCALRITAS

Friends, it feels absolutely incredible to be back today with a fresh COCKTAIL recipe! It’s been quite awhile since my last blog post — between a wonderful, 3 week workcation in the country, to making the most of some business-related travel in Edmonton (where we enjoyed a little weekend getaway!), I’ve been (safely) bouncing around all over the province like a true digital nomad this month. Although I’ve had my camera and laptop in tow and have still been creating content, keeping my socials updated (have you stopped by Instagram lately to see what I’ve been up to?) and working on some exciting projects, I couldn’t find the time to actually sit down, process and edit imagery, write long-form content and publish a blog post! Instead, I had some long overdue development tasks taken care of behind the scenes here at JustineCelina to get the site back in pristine working order (hopefully you haven’t even noticed!). Overall it’s been a very lucrative and productive month, although blog content took a back seat — so thank you for your patience and understanding! I’m thrilled to be back with this clean slate, feeling refreshed and ready to bring you tons of summer content — commencing with these Creamy Coconut Mango Mezcalritas!

I’ve been sipping away on these jubilant, Oaxacan-inspired cocktails since Cinco de Mayo when I whipped them up for a festive night in, simply using what we had on hand — and the results were absolutely delicious! My Creamy Coconut Mango Mezcalritas are a perfectly balanced libation that are equal parts smoky, citrusy, creamy, spicy and sweet — and are (as always!) free of dairy, gluten and refined sugar. A healthy dose of hand-crafted mezcal and creamy coconut milk combine with fresh mango and lime juices, along with a splash of Cointreau, agave nectar and just a hint of red chilli before they’re shaken over ice and strained into a Himalayan pink salt and Tajín rimmed glass. Make the most of this very welcome heatwave with an inspired seasonal sip that will virtually transport you to a tranquil ocean shore from the comfort of your own home, backyard or patio! Cheers to finding new ways to bring TRAVEL into our lives this year!

DIGITAL BLOOMS JULY 2020 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER

Happy Canada Day, friends! I spent the day foraging our beautiful Alberta land for ingredients and shooting July’s DIGITAL BLOOMS — and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the true north strong and free’s 153 Birthday! This month I wanted to commemorate the peaceful couple of weeks I’ve spent here at my childhood home in rural Alberta creating content by channeling inspiration from my surroundings into July 2020’s Digital Blooms, so you can enjoy a little bit of country tranquility, too! Despite all the flowers that are currently blooming here on our acreage, my favourite quintessential image of summertime in the country is a sea of tall, wild grasses dancing and swaying in the sunlight. It’s a comforting image that just feels like home — and it’s something I wanted to share with all of you!

This year our natural grasses seem more stunning that ever, spanning an array of golden, lavender, purple and green hues — and I harvested an assortment of Reed Canary Grass, Smooth Brome, Perennial Ryegrass, Crested Wheatgrass and Cheatgrass to create July 2020’s Digital Blooms! To switch things up and keep all materials for this free tech wallpaper authentic to the prairies, I also photographed the wild grasses on a piece of foraged barn board from an abandoned farmhouse just a few miles away (this is where all of the wooden backdrops you see here in the JustineCelina RECIPE section are from!).
