PANTONE 2019 COLOUR OF THE YEAR INSPIRATION | LIVING CORAL

Happy love day, friends! This year, I’m putting a PANTONE 2019 Colour of the Year spin on Valentine’s celebrations with a warm, pink-hued introduction to all things Living Coral! By now, you’ve likely heard about 2019’s hottest hue — either here at JustineCelina, or elsewhere online. As a creative professional, I’ve followed PANTONE (the global colour authority for creative industries) for inspiration my entire career. In fact, I even have a section dedicated to them here on the blog to categorize all my PANTONE inspired work throughout the years! As someone who’s very inspired by colour, I love to stay informed about the latest colour trends and allow them to inspire, challenge and push my creative work.

As you can probably imagine, I’m particularly passionate about PANTONE’s selection for 2019! HOW TO STYLE | TRANSITIONAL LAYERS

It’s mid April… and I’m editing this post during yet another Snowfall Warning here in Calgary! I don’t meant to give you a mini weather update every time I publish new style content — but the weather greatly impacts what I wear, and therefore share with you FASHION wise here at JustineCelina. And to be completely honest, this has been the longest winter I can remember… like, ever! The silver lining is that our chilly, temperamental ‘Canadian spring’ has forced me to get really creative when it comes to dressing myself for these transitional months. We shot these photos on a beautiful, 11°C spring day last week — followed by a winter storm and freezing temperatures that evening. This outfit is one I’ve worn several iterations of over the past couple of months — a mashup of winter coziness with an infusion of spring trends!

So, what’s a girl supposed to wear when she experiences each of the four seasons in one day? This versatile, layered look with an air of cool sophistication is my answer! In this edition of my HOW TO STYLE series, I’m chatting all about Transitional Layers and how to make them work for you this April in our unpredictable climate. I’m also dipping my toes into a few spring trends you can wear no matter the weather — including longline layers, baker boy hats (yep, still loving them!), dark denim, contrast stitching and statement sleeves, paired up with classic spring staples like trench coats, versatile knits and pointed toe shoes. I’m also mixing prints and using this moody spring weather as one last excuse to rock a vampy lip! HOW TO STYLE | MIDI DRESSES FOR WINTER

The time of year has come when winter really seems to drag on. Despite actually having pretty nice weather until late January, the past few weeks the have left a lot to be desired (I was snowed in for 3 days last week!). Mid February is typically when I start to crave the more free flowing, bohemian silhouettes and styles I love to wear during warmer weather — and this year, I was determined to wear those dresses and get really creative with my layering, despite the sub zero temps and snow storms! So today, I’m sharing a new post in my HOW TO STYLE series — and this time, I’m chatting about fresh ways to style your midi dresses for winter, incorporating a mashup of winter and spring trends with wardrobe staples in a boho chic look you can wear right now!

NOVEMBER 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey hey, you beautiful humans! Welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites post — and the last one of 2017 (I’m still having a hard time believing the year is almost over!). For a completely different change of pace, my November 2017 Beauty Favourites are relatively short ‘n sweet, containing just 6 products — it was a busy month for me, with lots of events and even more behind the scenes work on some larger projects (which I’m excited to share with you in the New Year!). That said, I tend to stick with what I know beauty-wise when I’m short on time — but I did place a new Colourpop order and discovered my favourite palette of 2017 (doesn’t hurt that it’s just $16.00, either!). Last month my lip product choices were all over the map and I didn’t have a particular shade or formula I reached for consistently, but I did discover (and rediscover) a handful of body care, fragrance and nail products!

OCTOBER 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Happy snowy Sunday, beautiful people! I’m elated to be curled up in a cozy sweater and fuzzy slippers with a big mug of chamomile tea this weekend working away on my October 2017 Beauty Favourites post — it’s a cold one in Calgary! If you’re looking for an excuse to hole up inside and avoid stepping foot into the frigid outdoors this weekend (and getting out of your sweatpants!), you’re in luck. Pour yourself a warm cup of whatever your little heart desires (mulled wine, perhaps?!), grab your iPad, phone or snuggle up in front of your laptop with your softest throw and let’s chat autumn beauty!

October was a bit of a whirlwind — it included a lot of travel, a new haircut and desire to refresh my look, shake things up and discover new products! I had a love affair with red lips and liquid lips — and wore one red in particular most of the month whenever I felt like something bold. I also became totally smitten with a pretty autumnal shade from the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick range, continued to practically bathe in Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters, rediscovered my love for an innovative mattifying product and found an incredible, inexpensive nude eyeliner that makes my eyes look bright and awake (trust me, last month I needed all the help I could get!). In the FRAGRANCE and SKINCARE categories, I got acquainted with an ultra pampering, uplifting body soufflé from Crabtree & Eveyln and reacquainted with one of my favourite autumn scents. It was somewhat of a minimalistic month for me beauty wise, as it took me awhile to figure out what worked best with my new fringe (which I’m still loving, by the way!), my eyebrows and eye makeup have definitely taken a back seat (no one can really tell I haven’t plucked or filled in my brows or spent those extra few minutes blending my eyeshadow — and it’s kind of amazing!). I’m back tonight with the first of many AUTUMN 2017 TREND GUIDES coming to JustineCelina this year and I couldn’t be more excited to share it! I look different — and I certainly feel different as well. Since taking the plunge and indulging in the eyelash skimming fringe I’d been lusting after since the summer, I’m finding myself completely renergized when it comes to all things fashion, style and beauty. So, we’re changing things up around here — this TREND GUIDE is dedicated to refreshing your personal style for a new season! In addition to diving head first into a handful of this season’s hottest trends, I’m also sharing my favourite ways to revitalize my look without breaking the bank (I shopped my own closet to pull this look together — gotta love that!).

JUNE 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey beautiful people — welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites! June was a fun month here at JustineCelina, packed with events, roadtrips, and absolutely gorgeous weather. Summer has definitely arrived in Calgary and I’ve been taking every opportunity I can to get outside and enjoy it! In June I experimented with a lot of seasonal trends in the beauty department and really pushed the boundaries of what type of what type of products I incorporated into my routine. It creative month for me beauty wise — and it was a blast!
