DIGITAL BLOOMS APRIL 2018 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPERS + DIGITAL BLOOMS TURNS 2!

Happy April 1st, friends! Today marks 2 years since Rebecca Dawn Design and I teamed up to create the first edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS for you — that means we’ve created 72 free tech wallpapers to date! Rebecca and I started working together around my 1st Blogiversary to bring FLOWER content to JustineCelina and make flower education accessible — and we haven’t looked back since. Our free tech wallpapers have since become some of my most popular content — and we’re thrilled you enjoy them just as much as we enjoy creating them for you!

This month, we’ve gone monochromatic — and it’s all about lavender, shades of purple and the 2018 Pantone Colour of the Year, Ultra Violet! If you’re not quite convinced you can pull off one of spring’s hottest colour trends in your wardrobe (although, I bet you totally can!), why not take it for a test drive on the background of your computer, tablet or phone this month? SPRING EQUINOX KIWI ELDERFLOWER SMASH

Happy first weekend of spring, friends! Wow — what a crazy, whirlwind week this has been. Between publishing our Living Room Reveal on Monday, my Style Me Pretty Living feature on Wednesday (pinch me!), a very exciting FASHION announcement (which has now published!), to a jam packed calendar full of events and meetings, plus 8 rounds of testing for this recipe (and subsequent cocktail ingredient runs before noon!), I’m finally getting a fresh cocktail for you this weekend. Initially this recipe was supposed to publish on Wednesday to welcome the first day of spring, so let’s just say my Spring Equinox Kiwi Elderflower Smash is fashionably late (like our spring weather) — but she comes bearing gifts! I’ve teamed up with Eau Claire Distillery once again to give away a full sized bottle of Prickly Pear EquineOx to one of you lovely Canadians (check out the bottom of the post for details on how to enter!).

After a long, snow covered winter, I’m elated to unleash my Spring Equinox Kiwi Elderflower Smash — a post-hibernation celebration of spring’s refreshing flavours in cocktail form! I figured it was time to pump the brakes on the gin train (let’s be real… there’s been a ton of gin drinking going down here at JustineCelina!) and introduce you to a completely unique spirit to welcome spring’s arrival. Today I’m working with Eau Claire Distillery’s award winning Prickly Pear EquineOx — a sweet, lightly citrusy, barley based vodka incorporating Alberta’s Prickly Pear Cactus with a special blend of spring botanicals. Complimented by a refreshing bouquet of elderflower, kiwi, lime, a kiss of wine, a dash of bitters and a splash of soda, I’ve created a seasonal elixir that pairs perfectly with longer evenings and balmier weather. DIGITAL BLOOMS MARCH 2018 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPERS

Spring is almost in the air… can you feel it?! Join Rebecca Dawn Design and I today in celebrating a new season with our March 2018 DIGITAL BLOOMS — inspired by Spring 2018’s vivacious selection of brights and pastels. Never before have I been so inspired by a colour palette (yep, the Pantone Spring 2018 Colour Trend Report is still giving me major heart eyes!) — I cannot wait to start wearing it and continuing to work with it across categories as the weather warms up (currently fantasizing about open toed shoes and dresses with bare legs!). Until then however, I’ll eagerly be awaiting spring’s arrival with a jubilant array of cheerful spring blooms and herbs — including these incredible, extremely rare lavender Garden Roses, Ranunculus, Lavender (which you’ll we learning more about this spring!), Alstroemeria, Matricaria, Asiatic Lilies, Ornithogalum, Double and Parrot Tulips (learn more about them here), Hyacinth, Pom Pom Chrysanthemums and Blue Delphinium. Sartorially, it’s all about the combination of brights with pastels as we transition into balmier weather — so why embrace the season’s colour trends on your digital devices as well?

We’ve already covered Tulips, Roses and Peonies in this series, but we’ve never featured a winter flower — and Anemones happen to be a personal favourite of ours. COLOUR CRUSH | BLUSH

I couldn’t think of a better time than the first week of February (and during another crazy winter storm — cue eye roll!) to share my latest style obsession with you — blush! Those of you who know me in real life can attest to the fact that I’ve probably said I ‘don’t really wear pink’ about 1000 times (I’ve even mentioned that in a few posts!) — but today I’m eating my words! I’m completely obsessed with all things blush right now and have had this stunning Topshop Alicia Boucle Wool Blend Coat (that I snapped up on clearance just before it sold out over the holidays!) on repeat lately, so I thought it was time to share a blush focused look with you. As I mentioned in our February DIGITAL BLOOMS, there’s definitely a bit of a theme happening here at JustineCelina this month! So, I thought it was the perfect time to revive my COLOUR CRUSH series — where I highlight an on trend colour and show you how to work it into your personal style!

Hey, hey flower friends! After my last post, I’m very excited to get some more lighthearted content out today! Love month is upon us — and Rebecca Dawn Design are celebrating the best way we know how — by sharing 3 free, Valentine’s Day inspired floral tech wallpapers with you! Last February, we created a special Love Edition set of DIGITAL BLOOMS prominently featuring roses — and they’ve become our most downloaded set to date. Due to overwhelming popularity, we’re keeping the love inspired theme going this year — but we’re working with more than just roses! This February, we’re combined a beautiful array of Spray Roses (learn more about them here), Panda Anemones, Dahlias, Astilbe, Astrantia, Ruby Silk Grass, Thrytptomene and Blushing Bride blooms in a dreamy, pastel palette.

HOW TO STYLE | OVERSIZED KNITS

The bigger the sweater the better… am I right?! This winter, oversized knits are trendier than ever — and I’m all for it. Like any good Canadian girl, I pretty much live in oversized sweaters from November through March — they’re another item I’ve always worn regardless of whether or not they’re particularly on trend. In fact, I love this sweater so much I actually own it in 3 different colours (total repeat offender here!) and they’re by far my most worn knits this season. As an oversized knit aficionado, today I’m thrilled to bring you How to Style | Oversized Knits and share my favourite ways to dress up your knitwear for maximum versatility! Sure, it’s easy to throw on an oversized knit with leggings and OTK boots or your standard skinnies and be out the door (I do this too!), but this winter I’ve been having fun with my oversized knits and getting creative!

Although it’s January, the weather has actually been quite mild and I’m finding myself looking ahead to spring. There’s been a lot of talk here at JustineCelina this year about the Pantone Spring 2018 Fashion Colour Trend Report — I’m really craving (and being inspired by) spring’s onslaught of pastels and brights! Remember all those times I mentioned that pink isn’t really a colour I wear? Well this season, I’m really enjoying all things blush and lavender (seriously… who am I?)!
