I’m back today with the first of many Spring 2017FASHION posts coming to JustineCelina — and it feels fantastic! Originally, this look was scheduled for last month, but shooting style content with a fully dressed finger was decidedly… less than glamorous. Now that I’ve healed up a bit I couldn’t wait to jump back in front of the camera (please excuse the Band-Aid!) and chat about some of my Seasonal Wardrobe Staples. It’s been a long winter on the Alberta prairies, but I think it’s safe to say spring has finally arrived!
If you’re looking to refresh your spring style with a few key pieces this season, I’ve totally got you covered today as we spring forward. Although this outfit definitely incorporates a few trends (keep your eyes peeled for several upcoming Spring 2017TREND GUIDES!) it’s also comprised of spring wardrobe building blocks and updated basics. You may remember me mentioning I wanted to rebuild my wardrobe with quality pieces this year — and I’m excited to share some of those foundational staples with you! Today we’re chatting about the Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report and simple ways to translate seasonal colour trends into your personal style, Mom jeans (sorry… they’re not going anywhere), step hem denim, blush and pastel hues, basic tees, mini bags, a quintessential spring shoe, oversized shades (obviously!) and a beautiful, everyday lip!
With the weather in Calgary being all sorts of unpredictable this year, I had originally planned to share this look with you earlier this autumn as the last installment in my Autumn Trend Guides. The intense cold snap we experienced a couple of weeks ago made shooting new style content outside almost impossible — but thankfully we experienced a few above 0℃ days earlier this week, so I jumped at the chance to get out there and snap a few photos. It actually worked out perfectly, since this last Trend Guide is all about transitioning some of autumns biggest trends into winter!
Today I’m sharing 10 of my favourite styles that are here to stay as temperatures drop — we’re talking novelty denim, metallics, block heels, mini bags, faux fur, pompoms, cold shoulders, velvet, longline and ultra dark, oversized shades! I’m also officially introducing you to Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2017, Greenery, and chatting about different ways to incorporate it into your personal style this season. If you’re ready to refresh your wardrobe for 2017 (or are looking for some holiday style inspiration), these are my top recommendations for trends that are here to stay!
I’m so excited to share the first post in a of a series of AUTUMN 2016 TREND GUIDES here at JustineCelina, where I’m breaking down this seasons biggest trends and showing you how to wear them! I’ve mentioned previously that fall is my favourite time of year for many reasons and fashion in definitely one of them. There’s just something about autumn that makes me want to start anew and refresh my wardrobe to reflect current trends — so today I’m sharing a few of the updates I’ve made and how I like to style my new additions. Today we’re chatting about the new romantic trend and combining 70’s inspired fall florals, waistcoats, rich reds, military greens, statement sleeves, mini bags, velvet, matte lips, chokers, shades of grey, over the knee boots and suede to achieve the look! Oh… and you didn’t think I want going to publish a post without mentioning the Fall 2016 Pantone Fashion Trend Report, did you?

Fall is my favourite time of year for many reasons — but something I look forward to each year is pulling out all my favourite warm, cozy lip colours (and trying a few new ones!) to mark the change in seasons. Last autumn as I was organizing my vanity for the season, I noticed a major theme — all of my most-worn autumn lip colours had a very similar, pumpkin spice inspired colour story (yes, I actually began working on My Top 5 Pumpkin Spice Lipsticks post last fall!). Although I may be the only woman on the planet who isn’t into Pumpkin Spice Lattes (shocking, I know!), I can definitely appreciate the inspiration behind this quintessentially autumnal beverage. So naturally, I thought this concept would make a fantastic addition to my seasonal BEAUTY content here at JustineCelina! I absolutely love to embrace each season as fully as possible — whether it be in my personal style, beauty routine, home or what I choose to nourish my body with. While a lot has changed in 2020, my love of fall beauty remains — and although I’m not wearing as much makeup as I did pre-pandemic (or getting glammed up nearly as often), I still love to treat myself to a beautiful, seasonal makeup application for an instant confidence boost. I hope I can inspire you to do the same, as my makeup routine has remained one of my most cherished forms of self care over the years!
