JUNE 2018 SOUNDTRACK

Happy Canada Day long weekend, friends! What’s everyone up to? We’re enjoying some time with my family in the country — enjoy the tranquility of the prairies and doing some cocktail testing (get ready for a refreshing summer recipe coming your way later this month!). Whatever your Canada Long Weekend holds, I have the ultimate soundtrack for you! My June 2018 Soundtrack includes over 3 hours of easy listening grooves spanning genres — with a healthy dose of folky, bluegrass inspired vibes thrown in for good measure. I recently discovered Spotify’s Stay Wild playlist and it decorated the majority of this past week while I worked away on the second installment of my What to Wear to | The Calgary Stampede post — hence the uptick of tasteful twang at the tail end of this playlist!

I’m all about looking the part and dressing your best for any occasion — the Calgary Stampede included! These wild 10 days are packed full of incredible networking opportunities, endless parties, fanfare, live entertainment and world-class culinary experiences — and each year, I curate a few western inspired outfits with a modern, bohemian sensibility to carry me though in style. If you’re looking for some fresh Stampede fashion ideas for both personal and professional settings, I’ve totally got you covered!

This year I’ve swapped my vintage turquoise for gold accents, my fringe bag for this blush pink beauty, my vintage cowboy boots for my favourite pair of OTK western boots and my undone braids for a flat brimmed hat, but one thing remains — the quintessential little white dress! Many of you came along on my Saks OFF 5TH shopping trip at Cross Iron Mills via Insta Stories earlier this month as I sourced items for this look. I found so many incredible pieces (I actually ended up purchasing a few other items that will be trickling into my style content soon!), but this sweet, flowy little alice + olivia Danna Lace Inset Dress stole my heart! SPRING 2018 TREND GUIDE | CHECK YOURSELF

It seems that we skipped spring entirely here in Calgary over the past 2 weeks and went straight from winter to summer — so naturally, I thought it was time to drop my first Spring 2018 TREND GUIDE on you! Admittedly, it’s difficult to keep up with our extremely bipolar climate in Alberta, let alone dress for it. Although we enjoyed many 20 ºC days in late April and early May, over the past few days we’re back to more typical spring weather — May showers included! While I was ecstatic to bust out all my open toed shoes (you can expect a SS18 SHOE GUIDE coming soon!), I also pulled together a few spring looks at the beginning of the season that have been on repeat lately — this is one of them! I never thought I’d see the day where bare legs were an option, but friends, the time has come!

I’m thrilled to bring you my Spring 2018 Trend Guide | Check Yourself — one of my favourite transitional outfit formulas for our Canadian winter-to-spring season, freshened up with a selection of key trends as we move into warmer weather (I can’t even begin to tell you how refreshing it is to not have to shoot in the snow!). Today I’m chatting about how to integrate checks, blush, OTK boots, round sunnies, panama hats and retro colour pairings into your spring style and highlighting my favourite on trend pieces at every price point. SPRING EQUINOX KIWI ELDERFLOWER SMASH

Happy first weekend of spring, friends! Wow — what a crazy, whirlwind week this has been. Between publishing our Living Room Reveal on Monday, my Style Me Pretty Living feature on Wednesday (pinch me!), a very exciting FASHION announcement (which has now published!), to a jam packed calendar full of events and meetings, plus 8 rounds of testing for this recipe (and subsequent cocktail ingredient runs before noon!), I’m finally getting a fresh cocktail for you this weekend. Initially this recipe was supposed to publish on Wednesday to welcome the first day of spring, so let’s just say my Spring Equinox Kiwi Elderflower Smash is fashionably late (like our spring weather) — but she comes bearing gifts! I’ve teamed up with Eau Claire Distillery once again to give away a full sized bottle of Prickly Pear EquineOx to one of you lovely Canadians (check out the bottom of the post for details on how to enter!).

After a long, snow covered winter, I’m elated to unleash my Spring Equinox Kiwi Elderflower Smash — a post-hibernation celebration of spring’s refreshing flavours in cocktail form! I figured it was time to pump the brakes on the gin train (let’s be real… there’s been a ton of gin drinking going down here at JustineCelina!) and introduce you to a completely unique spirit to welcome spring’s arrival. VEGAN SLOW COOKER TORTILLA SOUP WITH WINTER SQUASH

Well hello, friends! It’s been a little while hasn’t it? I’ve been spending the past few days soaking up some much needed rest and relaxation in the prairies with my family. In fact, I’m typing to you from my childhood home in rural Alberta! I shot these images and finalized the recipe last week before we hit the road on Friday and headed east to spend the holidays with family and friends. I’m fully embracing these slow, cozy, lazy days between Christmas and New Years Eve and wanted to get this post out for you — I know I’m always craving some major fruits and vegetables after a few days of holiday indulgence! Tonight I’m thrilled to bring you my Vegan Slow Cooker Tortilla Soup with Winter Squash — a no fuss recipe packed full of nourishing, plant based ingredients that eats like a meal!

SEPTEMBER 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

You guys, I seriously can’t believe Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend! 2017 just is flying by. Every month when it comes time to round up my picks for these Monthly Beauty Favourites posts, it’s hard to believe it’s been a month since my last! As I mentioned, September was the busiest month of the year for me both personally and professionally — but I actually discovered quite a few new beauty products, as well as rekindled the flame with a few long time favourites. My September 2017 Beauty Favourites span categories here at JustineCelina — it’s an eclectic, cross category mixture of products at every price point!

Kick back with a delicious chai latte and cozy up for some quality girl time — let’s chat about all things makeup, hair, skincare and fragrance! Last month my favourite products included a foundation and lipgloss from Rhianna’s new makeup brand (yes, I too got caught up in the FENTY hype!), to a new, anti-aging eye gel from Paula’s Choice (there were a lot of late nights and early mornings in September!), a bold, spicy orange liquid lip that I seem to gravitate to every autumn, a budget friendly, nudish lipliner with an autumnal spin, a stunning copper eyeshadows (a must for us green eyed gals!), a very well loved three-in-one volumizer, texturizer, and dry shampoo that smells absolutely heavenly, a sensual, cozy fall fragrance and another set of amazing, natural looking lashes from my favourite lash brand (they’re brand new for A/W17 and you can find them at Walmart!). WATERMELON FROSÉ MARGARITAS

You guys, this week has been such a whirlwind! Between spending time in the prairies working ahead on some exciting new projects, capturing tons of content for JustineCelina, publishing 3 blog posts, speaking at a YYC Blogger Babes event last night about The Business of Blogging and attending another event earlier today for a new partnership — I’m totally having a cocktail (or two) tonight as I finish up this post!

If you’ve been following along with my Insta Stories this summer, you’ve undoubtedly seen me whip up a Watermelon Frosé Margarita. She was a fun recipe to test and a fast favourite among friends and family — a pretty, pink cocktail gone rogue! This time, my Connecting Over Cocktails crew and I are serving up an array of seasonal, fruity cocktails for our Summer Edition and I knew I wanted to do something a bit different. Today I’m shaking things up with my Watermelon Frosé Margaritas — an icy sangria 2.0 with an attitude, and tequila on her breath! In true JustineCelina style, she’s made with just 5 ingredients blended over frozen watermelon creating a naturally sweet, feisty summer cocktail that embraces fruity flavours with a margarita essence and a Himalayan pink salted rim!
