DIGITAL BLOOMS SEPTEMBER 2019 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER

With the promise of changing leaves dancing on the late-summer breeze, I’m back with a fresh instalment of DIGITAL BLOOMS to welcome my favourite month of the year! I love September because it combines the best of summer and autumn — and I’ve channeled that transitional inspiration into this month’s free tech wallpaper. Last weekend we popped over to a local farmer’s market where some incredibly lovely bouquets of sunflowers were on display and I couldn’t resist picking one up to share with all of you! The best part? Everything featured in September 2019’s Digital Blooms is organic, biodynamic, growing here in Alberta right now! I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate the season.

September’s DIGITAL BLOOMS are heavily inspired by the Pantone Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 Fashion Colour Trend Report featuring warm, transitional hues of Chili Pepper, Biking Red, Rocky Road, Sugar Almond and Dark Cheddar set on a moody Bluestone backdrop. Unique Chianti and Little Becka Sunflowers are complimented by Rudbeckia, Strawflower, wild Firewheels and Barberry leaves in free desktop wallpaper that’s equal parts sunny and dramatic — just like the first month of autumn. AUGUST 2019 SOUNDTRACK

Happy Labour Day long weekend, beautiful people! What are you up to for summer’s final long weekend? Whether you’re exploring the great outdoors or enjoying a bit of a staycation, my August 2019 Soundtrack has arrived for your listening pleasure! This nearly 3 hour playlist features everything I’ve been listening to over the past month — and as usual, it’s an eclectic melange of genres, artists and release dates. I’m still on a bit of a hip-hop spree, but there’s a healthy mixture of instrumental, chill, electronic, indie and alternative tunes making up this 44 track playlist!

LATE SUMMER 2019 LOOKBOOK

With 3 weeks of summer still to savour, I’m back today with my Late Summer 2019 Lookbook! We started shooting this mammoth project mid-June — and although it’s taken quite some time to process the 2700+ images we took (these LOOKBOOK are definitely labours of love!), I’m absolutely elated to share this 12 outfit, late summer style guide with you today! As usual, it features everything I’ve been wearing and loving in both personal and professional settings over the last couple of months — plus innovative styling tips to help you extend the life of your summer wardrobe as we transition into autumn! My Late Summer 2019 Lookbook is complete with a healthy dose of seasonal trends, plus practical tips on how to wear them into fall, mixed with transitional wardrobe staples and shoppable links at every pricepoint (plus, insider tips about where to score the best end-of-season sales!).

Since I live in a climate where there’s snow covering the ground for 7+ months of the year, I love to make the most of my summer wardrobe (and put as many miles on my open-toed shoes as possible!) while the weather cooperates! Once of my favourite ways to blend summer and autumn is with colour — recently I’ve been really inspired by the Pantone Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 Fashion Colour Trend Report and am taking cues for my transitional style. As always, you can expect a mash-up of high, low, old, new and vintage in my Late Summer 2019 Lookbook — with the beautiful Alberta prairies and badlands as our backdrop! ANOTHER TRIP AROUND THE SUN

It’s Leo season and the canola is in full bloom here on the Alberta prairies as I celebrate Another Trip Around The Sun. I’ve always associated these free-spirited country flowers with my birthday — so when we stumbled on this gorgeous crop outside Okotoks after wrapping up shoots for my upcoming Late Summer 2019 Lookbook, we pulled over to capture these images as the sun set. It had been a long, hot day and I was a bit sweaty and disheveled, but we had about 15 minutes to make it happen and decided to go for it! To maximize the beautiful golden light, we ended up shooting into the sun (rather than the pretty backlit effect I typically prefer) and I was stunned at how beautifully these images came out — in fact, I think they’re my favourite of all the canola photos we’ve taken over the years. So, I thought it was fitting to share them with you to celebrate my birthday!

I actually wasn’t planning to write a post for my birthday this year — this post, like these photos, were completely spontaneous. This summer I’ve been trying to live in the moment, make the most of my opportunities and take life as it comes — and I feel that this set of images represent me and the direction I’m heading with JustineCelina perfectly right now! I’m happy, healthy and excited about what’s on the horizon — I feel very much in alignment with who I am and ready to for wherever my next trip around the sun takes me. If you’re in the mood for a reflective and uplifting read I’d love for you to pour yourself a glass of wine and spend part of your evening with me!

Happy Friday, friends! This girl is so ready for a glass of wine and for the long weekend. If you’re in need of some fresh tunes to decorate your long weekend adventures, my July 2019 Soundtrack is ready for streaming! This hour and a half long playlist features a really eclectic mixture of tracks spanning genres from instrumental to rap, with an emphasis on hip-hop (there are so many new artists I’ve been enjoying this summer!). No matter what you’re up to this long weekend, this easy-listening playlist is full of summer anthems you’ll enjoy during August long weekend and beyond!

There are so many standout artists and tracks I discovered in July — including Lil’ Skies Name in the Sand, bülow’s Do You Mean and You and Jennifer (who we saw live at The Calgary Stampede), Dazy Park’s Heartbeat City, Kabo and ford’s Places We Don’t Know, Maree Docia’s At Last, Sunrise, Tennyson’s Wintersleep, Medasin and Kathleen’s Always Afternoon, Mood’s Bucket List, Machine Gun Kelly’s El Diablo and Candy (but I had the whole album on heavy rotation this month!), Hope Tala’s Lovestained, Amorphous and Amindi’s Alright, Jacques Green and Cadence Weapon’s Night Service and San Holo’s Lead Me Back. WHAT TO WEAR TO | A CASUAL SUMMER WEDDING

It’s the height of summer here in Calgary — the sun is shining, temperatures are soaring and we’re deep into the heart of wedding season! Over the years I’ve published a few posts about what to wear to Spring Weddings as well as other various outdoor summer events — including Garden Parties and Horse Races. But during my 4 years of blogging, I actually haven’t created a post about What to Wear to | A Casual Summer Wedding (despite it being one of the most searched terms here at JustineCelina during July and August!). So today, in the latest installment in my WHAT TO WEAR TO series, I’m sharing all my best summer style tips for outdoor summer weddings!

Longtime readers will know I relish in the opportunity to dress up and dress well for every experience life has to offer. That said, I also know what it’s like to be overdressed in a casual setting — I’ve attended many a small-town wedding with denim on the menu. While I always prefer to be overdressed rather than underdressed to be respectful to my hosts, over the years I’ve learned a thing or two about how to adapt your attire to your environment without letting it put a damper on your personal style.
