DIY FLOATING SPRING CENTREPIECE

Many of us are bringing fresh flowers into our homes this spring — but despite our best care, all flowers eventually fade. Today I’ve teamed up with my friend and incredibly talented flower designer Rebecca Dawn Design to share an extremely simple (and extremely beautiful!) DIY Floating Spring Centrepiece — the perfect way to extend the life of blooms that are on their way out! All you need is a large serving bowl, fresh water and a handful of blooms — either repurposed from a less than youthful arrangement, or foraged from your garden! We’re covering everything you need to know to create a showstopping centrepiece to infuse any space with the fleeting beauty of spring blossoms — expert flower arranging skills not required.

You guessed it — we’re still drawing inspiration from Pantone’s spring palette and highlighting a melange of gorgeous spring blooms in soft shades of Pale Dogwood, Flame, Pink Yarrow, Hazelnut and (of course) a hint of the Colour of the Year for 2017, Greenery. APRIL 2017 SOUNDTRACK

My April 2017 Soundtrack is one of my favourite Monthly Soundtracks I’ve shared in quite awhile. I’m not sure what it was (being laid up at home for 10 days while my finger recovered probably had something to do with it!) but I was in such a musical mood this month and discovered so many incredible, inspiring artists along with way.

April’s Soundtrack is chill, happy and upbeat with lots of alternative, indie and electronic vibes — plus a healthy dose of folk and hip hop thrown in for good measure. There have been so many standout tracks on rotation this month, but Donovan Woods It’ll Work Itself Out, a really cool, stripped down remix of Don’t Dream It’s Over, Louis the Child and Elohim’s Love is Alive, Mating Ritual’s Cold, Chet Porter Chelsea Culter’s Stay, One Man Dancing’s Blank Page, Hollow Cove’s Coastline, RAC and Roastam’s This Song, Jessie Early’s Body Can’t Hold, Louis the Child and Ashe’s World on Fire, Utah’s No Coast, CLAVVS Silver Tongue, Paperwhite’s Human Nature, Fallen Roses and B dom’s Yours and Nobody Else’s, The Chainsmoker’s The One, Skrux’s Our Fragment, Goldroom’s Till Sunrise, Emmit Fenn’s Blinded, The 1975’s A Change of Heart, Rachel K Collier’s Paper Tiger, No Suits and Abhi The Nomad’s I’m Good and Stonefox’s Dreamstate sounded particularly good to my ears (I’m only about halfway through the playlist but I’ll park it there!). I can’t wait for you to hear them in this 5 hour, 82 song playlist!

A BLUSHING SPRING ARRANGEMENT

Flower children, welcome back for another installment in our FLOWER EDUCATION series! Today Rebecca Dawn Design and I couldn’t be more excited to share this Blushing Spring Arrangement with you — it’s sweet, fragrant and right on trend Spring (nope, I’m not even close to being done with the Spring Pantone Fashion Color Report!). DIGITAL BLOOMS APRIL 2017 | FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPERS + DIGITAL BLOOMS TURNS 1!

April 1st is an exciting day here at JustineCelina headquarters — it’s been exactly 1 year since Rebecca Dawn Design and I teamed up to create the first edition of DIGITAL BLOOMS for you! There have been so many milestones to celebrate this past month, but this is a very special one. I feel incredibly grateful to continue to work with Rebecca to bring FLOWER content to JustineCelina and make flower education accessible. We are so very lucky to be able to learn from the best!

To set the tone the 1st Anniversary Edition of Digital Blooms, we drew inspiration from the Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report. Blush, neutral and muted tones are trending this spring — and they just happen some of mine and Rebecca’s favourites! ALL ABOUT ROSES

Well hello, everyone! It’s been a week since my last blog post — I took the long weekend off from blogging to enjoy some quality rest and relaxation — and it was absolutely fantastic! I headed to the mountains on Saturday for a peaceful drive, a much needed massage at my favourite spa and an incredible meal. I also slept in, caught up on some housework, read a book and generally just enjoyed a slow, semi unplugged weekend without my camera (yep, still working on that balance thing we talked about!) How did you spend your long weekend?

This week I’m back at it — feeling refreshed, renewed and so excited to bring you another collaborative post in our ALL ABOUT series where Rebecca Dawn Design and I team up to educate you about everything you’ve ever wanted to know to know about a certain flower! In honour of love month, it’s been All About Roses here at JustineCelina and today we’re reintroducing you to February’s quintessential bloom, the rose.
