AUTUMN 2016 TREND GUIDE | NEW ROMANTIC

I’m so excited to share the first post in a of a series of AUTUMN 2016 TREND GUIDES here at JustineCelina, where I’m breaking down this seasons biggest trends and showing you how to wear them! I’ve mentioned previously that fall is my favourite time of year for many reasons and fashion in definitely one of them. There’s just something about autumn that makes me want to start anew and refresh my wardrobe to reflect current trends — so today I’m sharing a few of the updates I’ve made and how I like to style my new additions. Today we’re chatting about the new romantic trend and combining 70’s inspired fall florals, waistcoats, rich reds, military greens, statement sleeves, mini bags, velvet, matte lips, chokers, shades of grey, over the knee boots and suede to achieve the look! PRE FALL TRANSITIONAL STYLE

I, along with almost every other woman on the planet, will tell you that fall is my favourite time of year, especially for fashion. But September specifically is my favourite month — well, for almost everything (except Pumpkin Spice Lattes… I may be the only woman on the planet who’s not a fan of those!). It’s nice enough outside that we don’t have to be totally bundled up, but cooler temperatures call for more autumnal, layered style. It’s the perfect opportunity to maximize wear time on your favourite summer pieces, but also to begin playing with autumn fashion. So, today’s post a fall-inspired outfit with wear now appeal — a summer-meets-autumn mashup that we only get to wear for a brief window of time here in Calgary! I’m also chatting about some of fall 2016’s biggest trends and giving you tips to incorporate them into your personal style, right now.

HOW TO STYLE | JUMPSUITS

It’s that magical time of year in Calgary. Flowers are still in bloom, the weather is mild and the leaves are just starting to yellow. I can’t complain about September’s temperatures so far (we enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio right after we shot this post), but there’s a definite crispness in the air and a few crunchy leaves at my feet. I personally love this time of year, especially for fashion. And while I’m not quite ready to embrace autumn’s knits, boots and scarves, I’ve been pairing my summer favourites with lighter layers and a more autumnal colour palette during this transitional month. Today’s post is another installment in my HOW TO STYLE series — where I’m chatting about how to style jumpsuits and culotte silhouettes. I’m also sharing a few tips on how I like to transition more summery pieces like jumpsuits, maxis and rompers into autumn! SUMMER 2016 TREND HIGHLIGHTS

With August barely underway, many retailers are beginning to introduce fall inventory. Well I don’t know about you, but I’m not even close to being done with summer! Regardless of whether or not the sun is shining in Calgary (rain, rain, go away!), I’ve still been enjoying seasonal trends. Today, I’m sharing my Summer 2016 Trend Highlights and showing you how I’ve been wearing them — including bright whites, pompoms, off the shoulder tops, tassels, fringe, lace up details, frayed hem denim, 70’s revival and layered gold and natural stone jewellery! I’m also thrilled to be working with my favourite local jewellery designer Coutu Kitsch to share some of my favourite pieces from their SS16 El Verano Collection with you.

WINTER BOHO + HOW TO SHOP FOR GREAT VINTAGE

Lately, I’ve been reviewing my photo archives and lusting after the more carefree, bohemian styles of summer and autumn. My very first fashion post for JustineCelina is still one of my favourites! So today I’m chatting about wearing bohemian styles in cooler temperatures. You’ll find me pretty much living in maxi dresses in the summer, so I wanted to show you can style them for winter, too. In Calgary the weather is right around the 10° mark and things are starting to thaw out (see that hint of green on the ground?!) — so wardrobe options begin to open up. It’s nice not having to be totally bundled all the time, and start experimenting with layering again! I really love a good faux fur vest, and one of my favourite ways to wear them in the late winter and early fall is to pair them up with maxi dresses. I also give you a simple braided hairstyle idea, and my tips on how to shop for great vintage!
