PATTERN PLAY | LEOPARD

I’m spending Good Friday catching up on some editorial content — and I don’t mind one bit! It’s snowing (again… cue eye roll!) here in Calgary so I’m quite content to be curled up at my desk in a cozy pair of sweatpants and fuzzy socks with my second cup of coffee. Spring has definitely been holding out on us this year — and while most of the world (and the fashion industry) is in full on spring mode, I always dress for our current Alberta climate. Today I’m thrilled to introduce a new series to the JustineCelina FASHION department called PATTERN PLAY — where I dedicate an entire post to a specific pattern — along with tons of styling ideas, curated pieces with shoppable links at every price point and tips for selecting the right print for your lifestyle and body type. And we’re kicking things off with one of my favourite classic prints, leopard! I’m also taking this snow covered opportunity to get the last of cold weather textures in — including (faux) leather, satin and wool. Hey — I’m a glass half full kinda gal!

Regardless of whether you’re a leopard lover or never thought leopard was for you, there’s something for everyone in today’s post! I’m chatting about how you can incorporate leopard print into your wardrobe right now as well as transition it into spring (and style it with 2 of my favourite spring prints, stripes and florals!). I’ve always considered leopard print a neutral (when you break it down, it’s just shades of brown and black) — and while it’s more popular some seasons than others, this iconic pattern truly never goes out of style. In fact, I’ve owned my oldest leopard piece for about 8 years! Of course, there are some of the usual suspects in today’s look as well — including baker boy hats (but don’t worry — I finally trimmed my fringe this week so I’ll be sharing some new style content next month where I’m not wearing a hat!), longline coats, OTK boots and a beautiful, neutral lip — but I’ve also integrated some fun, playful textures in this monochromatic, leopard-centric outfit.

SEPTEMBER 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

You guys, I seriously can’t believe Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend! 2017 just is flying by. Every month when it comes time to round up my picks for these Monthly Beauty Favourites posts, it’s hard to believe it’s been a month since my last! As I mentioned, September was the busiest month of the year for me both personally and professionally — but I actually discovered quite a few new beauty products, as well as rekindled the flame with a few long time favourites. My September 2017 Beauty Favourites span categories here at JustineCelina — it’s an eclectic, cross category mixture of products at every price point!

Kick back with a delicious chai latte and cozy up for some quality girl time — let’s chat about all things makeup, hair, skincare and fragrance! Last month my favourite products included a foundation and lipgloss from Rhianna’s new makeup brand (yes, I too got caught up in the FENTY hype!), to a new, anti-aging eye gel from Paula’s Choice (there were a lot of late nights and early mornings in September!), a bold, spicy orange liquid lip that I seem to gravitate to every autumn, a budget friendly, nudish lipliner with an autumnal spin, a stunning copper eyeshadows (a must for us green eyed gals!), a very well loved three-in-one volumizer, texturizer, and dry shampoo that smells absolutely heavenly, a sensual, cozy fall fragrance and another set of amazing, natural looking lashes from my favourite lash brand (they’re brand new for A/W17 and you can find them at Walmart!). If the changing leaves have inspired you to refresh your beauty routine this fall, you’ll love my September 2017 Beauty Favourites!

AUGUST 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Well hello, beautiful souls! It’s been a minute, hasn’t it?! Not to worry — I’m back today with another Monthly Beauty Favourites post! The first part of September has been very busy with client work, so this post is coming to you a little late. That said, it’s packed full of some great new beauty finds and rediscovered products across eye, cheek, lip, complexion and nail categories, so I hope it was worth the wait. I’m definitely starting to transition into more autumnal makeup but have been enjoying lighter, fresher lip colours — so I guess we have a little bit of a summer-meets-fall vibe happening again today (there’s definitely a theme here at JustineCelina this month!).

Settle in on this crisp, late summer evening and let’s chat about everything I’ve loved putting on my face (and nails) lately! My August 2017 Beauty Favourites including the ultimate warm eyeshadow lovers dream palette, a natural, neutral lip liner that goes with everything, a luxurious, extremely unique lip cream, a fantastic lipstick for everyday wear as we transition into fall, the most heavenly drugstore bronzer I’ve ever worn, the perfect rosy blush in one of my all time favourite formulas and a decadent berry polish with nail helping, healthy ingredients (it’s infused with kale!). If you’re looking to incorporate a touch of autumn into your beauty routine, I have so many fantastic recommendations for you today!

SPRINGING FORWARD + SEASONAL WARDROBE STAPLES

I’m back today with the first of many Spring 2017 FASHION posts coming to JustineCelina — and it feels fantastic! Originally, this look was scheduled for last month, but shooting style content with a fully dressed finger was decidedly… less than glamorous. Now that I’ve healed up a bit I couldn’t wait to jump back in front of the camera (please excuse the Band-Aid!) and chat about some of my Seasonal Wardrobe Staples. It’s been a long winter on the Alberta prairies, but I think it’s safe to say spring has finally arrived!

If you’re looking to refresh your spring style with a few key pieces this season, I’ve totally got you covered today as we spring forward. Although this outfit definitely incorporates a few trends (keep your eyes peeled for several upcoming Spring 2017 TREND GUIDES!) it’s also comprised of spring wardrobe building blocks and updated basics. You may remember me mentioning I wanted to rebuild my wardrobe with quality pieces this year — and I’m excited to share some of those foundational staples with you! Today we’re chatting about the Spring 2017 Pantone Fashion Color Report and simple ways to translate seasonal colour trends into your personal style, Mom jeans (sorry… they’re not going anywhere), step hem denim, blush and pastel hues, basic tees, mini bags, a quintessential spring shoe, oversized shades (obviously!) and a beautiful, everyday lip!
