If you read any of my beauty posts, read this one! Today I’m rounding up all my 2015 beauty favourites in one post. If you’ve been with me for awhile, you know I absolutely love makeup, playing with beauty products, and experimenting with different looks. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much everything — and I’m definitely very particular when it comes to what I use and like. These are the absolute best, cream-of-the-crop products that I think can work for anyone! I continue to use and recommend these products again and again — not only for myself, but for family and friends of all ages, ethnicities and skintones.
My 2015 Beauty Favourites are a mixture of drugstore and high end items, so there’s really something for everyone. This is a very comprehensive post — so set aside an hour, grab a notepad and a cocktail, and let’s dive into my 2015 Beauty Favourites!
Today I’m chatting about my latest beauty obsession — the new Ultra Matte Lips from Colourpop! Currently there are 33 shades available, and I decided to pick up 10 from the range to try out. Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lips retail at $6.00 USD for 0.11 oz., just a fraction of the cost of their high-end counterparts. Lately, it seems like every brand is coming out with their version of a liquid lipstick, and I’m generally a fan of liquid lipstick formulas — they dry to a flat matte finish and are super long wearing. If you’re a lipstick lover (or want to learn more about liquid lipstick) this post is for you! I also have a review of 10 shades from the Ultra Satin Lip range.
How was your August long weekend, beautiful people? If you follow along with my Insta Stories, you’ll know we painted our living room, dining room and kitchen (about 700 square feet!) this weekend to kick off our Space Refresh (read more our plans here until it rolls out on the blog later this year) and I spent the entire weekend (including my birthday!) makeup free and covered in paint. So as you can imagine, it feels fantastic to wash the paint out of my hair and publish my July 2017 Beauty Favourites today!
July actually turned out to be relatively low key beauty wise, but still full of some great products I can’t wait to share with you. This past month, I finally finished my testing and am ready to recommend skincare that isn’t Paula’s Choice (I know — shocker right? I’ve been testing it since February and it’s fantastic!), an invigorating, sugar based body scrub (perfect for polishing away those last bits of fake tan!), a beautifully clean summer scent, the perfect contour powder to compliment a summer glow, another fantastic drugstore mascara, completely fell for Urban Decay’s Naked Heat Palette (it’s a must for us green eyed gals!) and rediscovered a highlighter from Colourpop (why did it take me so long to appreciate this unique, glossy formula?!). Ladies and gents, pour yourself a chilled glass of vino and pull up a seat at my vanity tonight for another Monthly Beauty Favourites post!
Hey beautiful people — welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites! June was a fun month here at JustineCelina, packed with events, roadtrips, and absolutely gorgeous weather. Summer has definitely arrived in Calgary and I’ve been taking every opportunity I can to get outside and enjoy it! In June I experimented with a lot of seasonal trends in the beauty department and really pushed the boundaries of what type of what type of products I incorporated into my routine. It creative month for me beauty wise — and it was a blast!
If you’re so over spring pastels and nudes, this post is for you! My June 2017 Beauty Favourites are bursting with vibrant hues and unconventional finishes and formulas. I have mini reviews on a little bit of everything today — a beautiful, compact, warm toned eyeshadow palette (which is actually a fantastic alternative to the in-and-out of stock Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette), my favourite mascara of the year (and it just happens to be under $7!), more Lancôme lip products, a delicious vegan shower cream, a neon red blush, an ultra fine makeup setting mist, a spray that makes your locks super shiny, a metallic rose gold polish with good-for-your-nail ingredients. Man it feels good to publish this May 2017 Beauty Favourites post! Since I spent a large part of March barefaced due to my finger injury and published my first ever completely makeup free Monthly Beauty Favourites post, this past month I really enjoyed experimenting with makeup again and discovered so many incredible new products. May was packed full of events (both blog related and personal) and I took every available opportunity to get my glam on — so you’ll find a healthy dose of glow and sparkle in my May beauty favourites! There’s range of products at affordable and luxury price points in today’s post — including a stunning rose gold highlighter (for less than $5!), my favourite lipsticks of the entire year, a bargain, go-with-anything nude lipliner, the perfect blush palette for a youthful spring flush, some extremely luxurious eyeshadows, a pastel lilac nail polish with nourishing ingredients and a metallic, glittery liquid eyeshadow!
There’s a strong peach, pink and rose gold theme in my favourites today — what can I say, I’ve been immersing myself in seasonal colour trends in full force! It’s been awhile since we chatted all things beauty, but you remember the drill, right? Pour yourself a glass of wine, find a cozy spot to relax and kick back with me this weekend to learn more about my current favourite beauty products!
If you’re a beauty lover looking for some reading material this long weekend, you’re in luck — it’s August Beauty Favourites time! August was a very experimental month for me beauty-wise because I purged and reorganized my entire makeup collection. Having been a beauty lover for many years before I started blogging I’ve accumulated quite the stash, which has grown exponentially this past year and a half since starting JustineCelina! I’m finding the need to reevaluate what I’m using and loving more often and also determining which products could find a better home. So, I packed up tons of goodies for friends and family and also donated some makeup to a local women’s shelter.
In my reorganizing, I set aside products that hadn’t seen much love recently and experimented with them in August — so I was a bit all over the place in terms of what I used each time I did my makeup. My August Beauty Favourites are a mixture of tried and true products in new colours, along with some brand new ones! Stay tuned for a beautiful, warm red liquid lipstick, a fantastic loose setting powder, some subtly colourful smoky eyeshadows, an inexpensive cream to powder highlighter and a heavenly scented dry shampoo from the drugstore!
November was a pretty low-key month for me, beauty wise. I discovered a few new products, but in colours that I know work for me. Otherwise, I’ve been sticking to what I know — which is what tends to happen when I’m super busy.
In November I got my glow on, rediscovered my signature winter scent, found a game changing pair of tweezers, an eyeshadow that makes simple smokey eyes a breeze, a no fuss nude lipstick for winter, and the most flattering liquid lipstick, ever! I also picked up a bunch of new products (yep… definitely took advantage of the Sephora VIB Sale!), so get ready for lots of holiday beauty posts, coming to JustineCelina soon!
