WHAT TO WEAR TO | CASUAL HOLIDAY PARTIES

It’s mid December and the holiday party season is in full swing, so I thought it was the perfect time to share a new post in my WHAT TO WEAR TO series — this time, to Casual Holiday Parties! I’m all about comfortable, laid back holiday looks remixing pieces from my existing wardrobe. This season, I’ve picked up a couple of new, trendier accessories to refresh my old favourites — and I’m so excited to share my finds with you! I actually wore this exact outfit to a restaurant opening on Steven Avenue (where we came back to shoot this post) last month and had tons of compliments and questions about it — a few women mentioned wanting to wear something similar to their holiday parties this year! And so this post idea was born. The best part is I put this look together with pieces I already owned — although my boots and hat are newer purchases from earlier this season!

SPRING 2017 TREND GUIDE | CASUAL CHIC

I’m back today with another SPRING 2017 TREND GUIDE for you — and this time, I’m styling 1 outfit 2 ways! If we’ve visited IRL lately, there’s a good chance I may have been wearing some iteration of this outfit (don’t think fashion bloggers don’t rewear their favourite outfits around different groups of people!). I’ve worn this Casual Chic look to meetings, to daytime events and also out to enjoy a glass of rosé on a sunny patio with friends in the evening — transitioning my outfit simply by changing up a few accessories and losing a layer! While I’d love to be frolicking in a field or on a mountaintop everyday of my life (I mean… who wouldn’t?!), I realize that’s just not realistic for the average woman and moving forward I’ll be showcasing the more professional side of my wardrobe here at JustineCelina as well.

While this outfit incorporates a handful of seasonal trends, it’s also such an easy one to wear — and one I think would suit almost every body shape. TRANSITIONING THE TRENDS | AUTUMN TO WINTER

With the weather in Calgary being all sorts of unpredictable this year, I had originally planned to share this look with you earlier this autumn as the last installment in my Autumn Trend Guides. The intense cold snap we experienced a couple of weeks ago made shooting new style content outside almost impossible — but thankfully we experienced a few above 0℃ days earlier this week, so I jumped at the chance to get out there and snap a few photos. It actually worked out perfectly, since this last Trend Guide is all about transitioning some of autumns biggest trends into winter!

PRE FALL TRANSITIONAL STYLE

I, along with almost every other woman on the planet, will tell you that fall is my favourite time of year, especially for fashion. But September specifically is my favourite month — well, for almost everything (except Pumpkin Spice Lattes… I may be the only woman on the planet who’s not a fan of those!). It’s nice enough outside that we don’t have to be totally bundled up, but cooler temperatures call for more autumnal, layered style. It’s the perfect opportunity to maximize wear time on your favourite summer pieces, but also to begin playing with autumn fashion. PATTERN PLAY | CHAIN PRINT

Friends and fashionistas, welcome back for a fresh installment in my PATTERN PLAY series, dedicated to all things chain print! If you keep an eye on fashion trends, you’ll likely have noticed a surge of chain print trickling into your favourite retailers since the onset of autumn — and it’s hotter than ever as we transition into spring. Although this vintage feeling, designer-inspired print has always had a place in my wardrobe (namely in my vintage scarf collection!), I was thrilled to see its reemergence this season in so many fresh interpretations.
