TROPICAL PINEAPPLE TURMERIC COOLER

Man, it’s been hot in Calgary lately (not that I’m complaining)! I’ve been craving lots of tropical fruit and fresh juice to help keep me cool and nourished, so today’s recipe is my latest fresh juice concoction! My Tropical Pineapple Turmeric Cooler is a blend of sweet pineapple, powerhouse carrot, hydrating watermelon, spicy ginger and healing turmeric, rounded out with a bright splash of lemon. I’ve been enjoying it lately post-morning workout, but it’s a versatile recipe that can be enjoyed anytime of the day or night when you need a fresh, sunny pick-me-up! The invigorating ingredient deck always gives me tons of energy to fuel the rest of my morning and it also aids in digestion. Whip up a batch in the A.M. for a tropical kick-start, or enjoy it with a little Caribbean rum on a hot summer night (go on, put some rum in your fresh juice — I’m not gonna judge you!). MAY BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Welcome back for another installment of my Monthly Beauty Favourites posts! Today I’m chatting summer beauty and sharing some of my favourite liquid lipsticks, lip liners, a new brow pencil, a gorgeous baked bronzer, a stunning ombre blush, and my all-time favourite eyeshadow to complete bronze and gold looks.

I placed a Colourpop order in May to test out some of their newer launches, so most of my favourites today are from Colourpop — one of my favourite affordable makeup brands. I also tried some products from the Lise Watier limited edition Summer 2016 Escale Collection and found a great bronzer for the summer! You guys, Colourpop did it again! If you’ve been with me for awhile you’ll know how much I love Colourpop Cosmetics — an innovative, affordable, cruelty-free makeup brand hailing from L.A. Last spring when their first line of liquid lipsticks launched, I loved them so much that I did a dedicated review post. And while I do still love the original Ultra Matte Lips, the liquid lipstick world has blown up over the last year — formulas have been perfected, colour ranges have expanded, and brands are really listening to what consumers are looking for. So, when I heard Colourpop launched an Ultra Satin Lip formula that was supposed to by less drying, you know I had to try it out! GREY DAYS

We’ve been having quite a few grey, rainy days lately. So, I thought I’d embrace it and show you what I wear on a more casual day when I still want to look cute and pulled together! On cooler spring days I like to feel cozy but also wear lighter colours and layers to keep things fresh and seasonally appropriate. I pretty much live in great basics like skinny jeans, cute flats, classic v-necks and oversized cardigans when I’m keeping things casual. Sometimes I also give my eyes a break from contacts and wear glasses. I picked up a couple of new frames recently, so I thought I’d show you how I style them on a casual day! I also chat about my go-to natural makeup look — it’s perfect for glasses.

APRIL BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey guys! It seems like forever since my last monthly beauty favourites post, doesn’t it? It’s a few days later than usual because I bumped it back to coordinate with my In Search of Yummyness In The Kitchen With interview, so today I’m excited to share my April Beauty Favourites with you! Like last month, I gravitated towards cooler purple tones on the eyes and peaches and corals on the lips. It was an especially busy month and I tend to fall back on my favourite formulas when I don’t have time to search out and test new products!

This month I fell in love with a stunning neon-purple eyeshadow, a gorgeous peach lipstick, an array of peach and coral glosses, an affordable new setting spray, and a new dry shampoo from my favourite brand. Today’s post is all about shoes! I really love shoes — I’m a bit of a shoeaholic and always have been! If you’re reading this, you probably love shoes too.
