APRIL BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey guys! It seems like forever since my last monthly beauty favourites post, doesn’t it? It’s a few days later than usual because I bumped it back to coordinate with my In Search of Yummyness In The Kitchen With interview, so today I’m excited to share my April Beauty Favourites with you! Like last month, I gravitated towards cooler purple tones on the eyes and peaches and corals on the lips. It was an especially busy month and I tend to fall back on my favourite formulas when I don’t have time to search out and test new products!

This month I fell in love with a stunning neon-purple eyeshadow, a gorgeous peach lipstick, an array of peach and coral glosses, an affordable new setting spray, and a new dry shampoo from my favourite brand. If you have a few minutes to relax this Sunday, grab a beverage and a snack and let’s chat about some great beauty products!

APRIL BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Colourpop Pressed Pigment in Fantasy

US $ 5.00

Colourpop Pressed Pigment in Fantasy Photos, Review // JustineCelina.com

This is the most intense purple eyeshadow I’ve ever encountered, and it’s truly stunning — especially on green eyes. If you’ve been with me for awhile you’ll know that Colourpop’s Super Shock Shadows are my all-time favourite eyeshadow formula (and I own way too many). Last month I loved using Fantasy to add a bright purple pop to smokey eyes. Colourpop describes is as an electric neon red violet topped with multi-dimensional glitter and that’s exactly how it translates to my lids. If you’re looking for a crazy-intense warm purple, they don’t make them more gorgeous than this. As with all Colourpop Super Shock Shadows, the formula wears all day without any fading or creasing. Buxom Full-on Lip Cream in Creamsicle

C $23.00

Buxom Full-on Lip Cream in Creamsicle Photos, Review, Swatches // JustineCelina.com

During April I found myself going back to my all-time favourite formulas, and the Buxom Full-on Lip Creams are no exception. I was drawn to a glossy lip this month and wore a trio of peach and coral shades non-stop. Creamsicle is the lightest of my favourites this month, which Buxom describes as a peach sorbet. It’s a light, milky peach colour that gives my lips a pretty, light peach gloss. These Lip Creams aren’t fully opaque or long wearing, but they’re my all-time favourite lip gloss formula — high shine, non-sticky and slightly plumping. Read more about my favourite Buxom lip creams and glosses.

P.S. — The gloss size pictured above is from a value set I purchased during the holidays which is no longer available. I’ve linked the full-size gloss instead!

Buxom Full-on Lip Cream in Mai Tai

C $23.00

Want to try a gorgeous, foolproof shade from the Buxom Full-on Lip Cream range? I’d recommend picking up Mai Tai — which Buxom describes as a vivid coral. This is definitely my most-worn lipgloss of all time and I’ve gone through several tubes over the years! It’s a true coral shade that I think would look beautiful on absolutely everyone. Did you know coral is one of the most universally flattering colours? If you’ve never tried a coral lip product, Mai Tai would be a perfect, easy-to-wear introduction! Buxom Full-on Lip Cream in Cherry Flip

C $23.00

The last Full-on Lip Cream I had on repeat in April is Cherry Flip, which Buxom describes as a poppy red. On me, it’s a juicy watermelon shade. I’ve gone though many tubes of Cherry Flip over the years — I love it for daytime wear in the spring and summer for a fuss-free pop of colour. It’s also another shade that I think would flatter a variety of skintones! If you’re looking for a juicy, wearable shade this spring and summer give Cherry Flip a try. Colourpop Lippie Stix in Fiesta

US $ 5.00

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Fiesta Photos, Review // JustineCelina.com

I wore coral and peach lips almost everyday in April when I wasn’t wearing greige! My go-to lipstick last month was Colourpop’s Lippie Stix in Fiesta — a light peachy pink in a cream finish, which is my favourite formula from the range. Again, I own and love so many of these affordable lipsticks from Colourpop and the value can’t be beat. If you’re looking for a fun, brightened peachy-pink I think you’ll love it too! Fiesta wear from about 4 hours on me and it’s lightly hydrating, which is a welcome change from all the matte and liquid lipsticks I wore during the winter. Wet n’ Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray

US $4.99

Wet n' Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray Photos, Review // JustineCelina.com

I’m so excited to share an amazing setting spray from the drugstore with you this month! Kelly (my friend at Little Blue Canoe) actually picked this setting spray up for me on a recent trip to the US — because she’s a sweetheart like that, and I wasn’t sure if we were going to be seeing it in Canada! But,  I’m happy to report that I’ve recently spotted this spray at select Canadian Walmart locations. I use the Wet n’ Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray after I’ve finished applying my makeup to set it in place, prolong its wear and help it settle into the skin. It also does a great job at keeping my skin mattified during the day. It has a very fine mist and a light scent, which doesn’t linger or irritate my skin. I love to keep my setting spray in the fridge during these warm months to make it extra refreshing! If you’ve always wanted to try a setting spray, this is a fantastic budget alternative to similar high-end counterparts.

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo

C $ 8.76

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo Photos, Review // JustineCelina.com

I found Batiste products in Canadian Superstores last month as well! I was a faithful user of the Batiste Dark and Deep Brunette Dry Shampoo for years — until last spring when I was told that it was discontinued and I could no longer find it online. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it (along with my new favourite Tropical scent) on the shelves at Superstore! Batiste claims that this dry shampoo banishes oily roots, giving dull, lifeless hair the makeover it needs without water — and that’s exactly what it does for me. It also doesn’t leave a white cast on my medium brunette hair, adds a little volume and smells absolutely divine. In my opinion, Batiste makes the best dry shampoos on the market at any price point. April was over soon but I hope we are having a great May. The purple eyeshadow is so beautiful and it looks gorgeous on you. I do use the Batiste dry shampoo and I love it. I noticed this morning that it’s almost empty *panicking* I’m trying to think of my favourite product from this month, but I can’t really say…ah well actually I can, it’s my new Rimmel lasting finish foundation. It has SPF 20 is long wearing, hydrates the skin and looks so natural.
Perhaps you could make a post about your favourite face SPFs for the face? I am still looking for a great one.
    Have a nice day.
