VANCOUVER TRAVEL GUIDE

I spent a few days in the Vancouver area last month — and today I’ve partnered with American Tourister to share my first ever TRAVEL GUIDE here at JustineCelina! I’ve traveled with Samsonite luggage for many years, so when their sister brand American Tourister got in touch last month, I jumped at the opportunity to test drive a piece of luggage from the range. This fun iLite Max 25″ Spinner was the perfect travel companion on this whirlwind trip to the west coast!

Anytime I visit a new destination, I’m asked for my list of must sees and do’s from the area and have always compiled a list of recommendations — ready to send out for anyone who requests one. Since I’m asked for these recommendations often, in 2017 I’ll be sharing this type of content here at JustineCelina, embracing the opportunity to make my TRAVEL GUIDES more comprehensive and easily accessible. WINTER 2017 SHOE GUIDE | EXTRAS

Hey shoe lovers — welcome back for the second installment in my 2 part Winter 2017 Shoe Guide mini series dedicated to stylish, cold weather footwear! If you caught the first installment where I shared my favourite winter shoe basics, you’ll know that I’ve gone through a major shoe purge and refresh this season. In rebuilding my cold weather footwear wardrobe, I started with basics first — then I branched out the extras (you know, the fun stuff!). MILITARY INSPIRED

What better time to photograph a style post than during a heavy snowfall / extreme cold warning when you’re snowed in in the country… right?! I headed east to my childhood home in rural Alberta this past weekend and took the snowstorm as a perfect opportunity to shoot this Military Inspired look in the crisp white serenity of the prairies. It was a bit chilly, but these photos made it all worthwhile!

While the most of the world is gearing up for spring, arctic Canadian weather is still alive and well here in Alberta and February can often be our coldest month. As such, I’m a big fan of the statement coat — especially during the winter when your outerwear is your outfit. While I’ve always loved Military Inspired styles (this jacket is about 6 years old!) I was thrilled to see a resurgence of the military trend this winter — and today I’m showing you how to wear it! I’ve paired a classic Military Inspired statement coat with luxe winter accessories in a few of my favourite cold weather textures including faux fur and velvet. I truly believe a well constructed, Military Inspired coat is a timeless piece and a fantastic addition to dress up any winter wardrobe!

JANUARY 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Well hello, beautiful people! Today I’m sharing my January 2017 Beauty Favourites — and it’s been almost a month since my last beauty post! You may have read that I’ve been doing some major purging and reorganizing in preparation for the SPACE REFRESH I have planned this year. This also included a complete overhaul of my makeup collection! I spent a large part of January sorting, donating and making an effort to rediscover forgotten products while exploring the holiday gift sets I purchased back in December (I purchased most of them for gifting, but kept a few items for myself!). There are a lot of minis in today’s post!

This January, it was back to basics in the beauty department. I spent a lot of time planning for 2017 (including lots of exciting new beauty content that I can’t wait to share!) and working behind the scenes, so overall it was a pretty minimal month for me makeup wise and my favourites definitely reflect that. It’s also been insanely dry here in Calgary this winter (YYC gals, I know you feel me!), so I was drawn to lightweight, slightly hydrating and more natural products to help combat winter skin. I also had a chance to explore the mini fragrance kits I picked up December (I’ve been wearing a few new fragrances each week and it’s been so much fun!) so I have a couple of new fragrance favourites as well. A LUXURIOUS NEW YEARS EVE BASH

As 2016 winds down, I wanted to cap things off here at JustineCelina with an unexpected twist! The older we get and the busier our lives become, the more I truly treasure the time I’m able to spend with family and friends — especially during the holidays. I’ve always wanted to host a black tie party to ring in the new year — I would much rather stay in and create a unique and memorable evening for guests to enjoy than go out to celebrate. Today I’ve teamed up with HomeSense, Rebecca Dawn Design and Genevieve Renee Photographie to do just that in this Luxurious New Years Eve Bash!

If you’re hosting a New Years Eve party and looking for some fresh ideas, we have so much entertaining inspiration in store for you today. This season I wanted to create something interesting and experiment with a different aesthetic — fantastical, luxurious and a bit avante garde. This moody, black tie celebration is complete with dramatic florals and modern decor mixed with antique touches, indulgent accoutrements, Vanilla Pomegranate Mulled Wine and no shortage of bubbly. Rich, on-trend textures of velvet, agate and natural stone are layered with jewel tones, gold and antique brass to create a dramatic spread with contemporary flair.
