JANUARY 2017 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Well hello, beautiful people! Today I’m sharing my January 2017 Beauty Favourites — and it’s been almost a month since my last beauty post! You may have read that I’ve been doing some major purging and reorganizing in preparation for the SPACE REFRESH I have planned this year. This also included a complete overhaul of my makeup collection! I spent a large part of January sorting, donating and making an effort to rediscover forgotten products while exploring the holiday gift sets I purchased back in December (I purchased most of them for gifting, but kept a few items for myself!). There are a lot of minis in today’s post!

This January, it was back to basics in the beauty department. I spent a lot of time planning for 2017 (including lots of exciting new beauty content that I can’t wait to share!) and working behind the scenes, so overall it was a pretty minimal month for me makeup wise and my favourites definitely reflect that. It’s also been insanely dry here in Calgary this winter (YYC gals, I know you feel me!), so I was drawn to lightweight, slightly hydrating and more natural products to help combat winter skin. I also had a chance to explore the mini fragrance kits I picked up December (I’ve been wearing a few new fragrances each week and it’s been so much fun!) so I have a couple of new fragrance favourites as well. TRANSITIONING THE TRENDS | AUTUMN TO WINTER

With the weather in Calgary being all sorts of unpredictable this year, I had originally planned to share this look with you earlier this autumn as the last installment in my Autumn Trend Guides. The intense cold snap we experienced a couple of weeks ago made shooting new style content outside almost impossible — but thankfully we experienced a few above 0℃ days earlier this week, so I jumped at the chance to get out there and snap a few photos. It actually worked out perfectly, since this last Trend Guide is all about transitioning some of autumns biggest trends into winter!

NOVEMBER BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey beautiful people — welcome back for the November installment of my Monthly Beauty Favourites! November was a very experimental month for me beauty wise and I discovered some amazing new products that have become staples in my everyday routine. Liquid lipsticks have become my go-to anytime I need something extremely long wearing and budgeproof — and I fell in love with two warm, mid toned neutral shades this month from Smashbox and Huda Beauty. I also discovered a fantastic new contour powder and mascara that have been on repeat all month long!

In November I had my first introduction to Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows (I think everyone should own the palette I’m about to mention!) and to Commodity‘s beautiful, cozy fragrances. To cap things off, I also have a few limited edition favourites for Holiday 2016, including a gorgeous palette from Hourglass Cosmetics and a rose quartz Pantone Colour of the Year themed highlighter (I bet you saw that one coming!). OCTOBER BEAUTY FAVOURITES

It was beauty overload here at JustineCelina headquarters last month — in the best way possible! October marked the beginning of my partnership with Sephora Canada and I published my first two posts in a series of six that we’ll be working on together this year. As you can imagine, there was a whole lot of liquid lipstick and fragrance testing going down last month as part of my research for my 5 Liquid Lipsticks to Try This Fall and Autumn / Winter 2016 Fragrance Edit posts (have you read them yet?!). So naturally, most of my October Beauty Favourites are liquid lipsticks and fragrances!

In October I fell in love with three gorgeous liquid lipsticks in fall’s hottest shades — as well as a vampy, demi-matte traditional lipstick. I also gravitated towards two beautiful fragrances and discovered the best liquid black eyeliner I’ve ever tried! JULY BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Welcome back for another Monthly Beauty Favourites post! This July I fell in love with a gorgeous new summer fragrance from Givenchy, discovered a budget friendly liquid eyeliner that rivals my high end favourite, wore my new Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks to death and found the perfect coral lip liner to go with them!

It was a pretty low-key month for be beauty wise and I tended towards pairing bolder lip colors with a simple winged eye — which is one of my favourite summer looks. I also used my favourite eyeshadows from Makeup Geek almost everyday!
