DECEMBER 2020 SOUNDTRACK + BONUS 2020 SOUNDTRACK

As 2020 draws to a close, I’m sharing two fresh playlists for all your NYE listening needs! First up, my December 2020 Soundtrack — a short n’ sweet playlist featuring 37 of my favourite tracks from the month! As usual, you can expect an eclectic melange of genres, artists and sounds airing on the instrumental side that helped me through the pre-holiday hustle in this MONTHLY SOUNDTRACK. I discovered Spotify’s Focus Music playlist in December, which is where many of my inclusions are gleaned from! MID CENTURY MEETS BOHO HOLIDAY DECOR

Happy holidays, friends! Can you believe we’ve nearly made it to the end of another year? What a year it’s been. Despite everything that’s happened and how different this season looks, it always brings me great joy to prepare our home for the holidays — and tonight I’m thrilled to share our Mid Century Meets Boho Holiday Decor! Even though it will just be the two of us this Christmas, I knew I wanted to keep things fun, fresh and festive this holiday season. This is our third year decorating our recently refreshed inner city Calgary apartment for the holidays — although our holiday decor went up much later than I originally intended, we love the way it came together. In fact, I think this year’s holiday decor may just be my favourite yet! As always, I mixed high, low, old and new to infuse the apartment with Christmas spirit — and today I’m detailing exactly how I pulled it all together!

Whether you’ve been with me here at JustineCelina for years or have just recently joined (welcome!), you’ll know I’m all about finding creative ways to make my favourite pieces feel fresh again — be it in my home or in your wardrobe. That said, given the state of the world (and in light of the current restrictions here in Alberta), I knew didn’t want to rely on having to shop in person for our holiday tree this year. So, instead of purchasing fresh tree as we’ve done in years past, I decided to have some fun with it and ordered a flocked artificial tree — and I adore the effect! Other than our tree and a few small decor pieces, everything else we’ve owned for years. As we live in an apartment with limited storage, it’s simply not practical for us to purchase entirely new decor each season (but to be honest, I don’t think that’s practical for anyone!). EASY HOLIDAY ENTERTAINING IDEAS

With the holidays just around the corner and the height of entertaining season upon us, I’m elated to share my go-to Easy Holiday Entertaining Ideas in my first dedicated ENTERTAIN post in… gulp… 3 years! The absence of entertaining content here at JustineCelina in recent years has happened authentically, as we’ve scaled back on entertaining in general — simply because life is busy (I’m sure you can relate, especially at this time of year!). Although we love to have an apartment full of company eating, drinking and be merry during the holidays, I’m all about making this festive time of year as fun, stress free and healthy as possible — and that’s what this post is all about! Whether you’ve been with me for years or are new to my cozy little corner of the internet (welcome!), you’ll know I also love to incorporate better-for-you food and drink whenever we’re hosting or attending a party — because I believe in balance and mindful choices in every season of life.

Earlier this month as I pulled out our festive decor and entertaining essentials I discovered Kombrewcha — a delicious, 4.4% ABV hard kombucha made from organic ingredients. As a plant based eater with a sensitive stomach thanks to numerous food intolerances, I’ve long enjoyed kombucha as a way to help keep my digestion on track — especially during the holidays! I also love to mix this effervescent, probiotic-rich, fermented tea into my COCKTAILS (if you follow along with my Instagram Stories, you’ll know I’ve been developing kombucha cocktails since last summer!). Lipstick lovers, I’m elated to share My Top 5 Everyday Lip Colours with you today to kick off the return of beauty content here at JustineCelina — my first dedicated BEAUTY post in nearly 2 years! I’m thrilled to introduce a brand new series called MY TOP 5, where I shared tried and true beauty staples across categories.
