AUTUMN 2016 TREND GUIDE | NEW ROMANTIC

I’m so excited to share the first post in a of a series of AUTUMN 2016 TREND GUIDES here at JustineCelina, where I’m breaking down this seasons biggest trends and showing you how to wear them! I’ve mentioned previously that fall is my favourite time of year for many reasons and fashion in definitely one of them. There’s just something about autumn that makes me want to start anew and refresh my wardrobe to reflect current trends — so today I’m sharing a few of the updates I’ve made and how I like to style my new additions. Today we’re chatting about the new romantic trend and combining 70’s inspired fall florals, waistcoats, rich reds, military greens, statement sleeves, mini bags, velvet, matte lips, chokers, shades of grey, over the knee boots and suede to achieve the look! HAIRCARE 101 + MY TIPS FOR LONG, STRONG, HEALTHY HAIR

Welcome back for another installment in my Beauty 101 series! I get a lot of questions about my hair, so today’s post covers everything I know about how to get long, strong, healthy hair. Did you know I’ve had just about every haircolour imaginable over the years — even green and purple as a teenager? In my lifetime I’ve coloured my hair with Kool Aid, Sun In (yikes… anyone else remember those days?!) and many other drugstore and professional colours. I worked at a hair salon throughout college, so I do have a good foundational knowledge of hair in addition to what I’ve learned on my own. In the past 10 years my hair has been every shade of red, blonde, ombre and brunette — it was fun to experiment and see what I liked best on myself. But all those years of colouring and heavy heat styling definitely did a number on my super fine hair! Over the years I’ve transitioned back to my natural haircolour and my hair is finally healthy again — but it’s been a long road to get here. DIY | DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEANS

Feeling crafty this weekend? Today I’m showing you how to rough up a pair of denim to achieve the distressed look we’re seeing everywhere this spring! The best part about distressing a pair of jeans you currently own is the denim is already perfectly worn in — and you can totally customize it to your preference! I’ve owned this pair of jeans for about 6 years, but they’re a little too short for me to wear with heels, so I figured I’d get a lot more wear out of them if I distressed them and cropped them a bit. Voila — now I have the perfect pair of spring boyfriends, and I’ve been wearing them constantly! You only need about an hour and a few tools to complete this DIY (and you probably have the tools at home)! COMFORT ZONE

Sometimes you just want to be really comfortable, am I right?! While I absolutely love dressing up, there are many occasions when I still want to look put together, but be comfortable and cozy (like a casual Thanksgiving dinner, for example — when I wore this exact outfit!). Today I’m chatting about my favourite comfortable, elevated basics for autumn. I love to add lots of texture and interest to my outfits with light layers and versatile accessories — my favourite pieces are made from soft, comfortable fabric, and their unique details make them more interesting than your basic leggings and oversized tee. Curl up with a big latte and let’s chat about laid-back fall style!

HOW TO STYLE | PONCHOS

I’m so happy to be sharing more fashion content with you this fall and winter! To kick things off today, I’m starting a new series here at JustineCelina called HOW TO STYLE — showing you how to style a specific on-trend item that you might not think you can pull off, or may be intimidated by.

I’ve loved ponchos for years, and will always wear what I love regardless of whether or not it’s trendy — but I’m pretty excited that ponchos are everywhere this fall! They’re such a statement piece, and a great way to add interest, depth and texture to your fall wardrobe. The one I’m wearing is actually from Garage Clothing (yeah that’s right… I was shocked too!) — it’s so cozy and luxurious feeling.
