You guys, Colourpop did it again! If you’ve been with me for awhile you’ll know how much I love Colourpop Cosmetics — an innovative, affordable, cruelty-free makeup brand hailing from L.A. Last spring when their first line of liquid lipsticks launched, I loved them so much that I did a dedicated review post. And while I do still love the original Ultra Matte Lips, the liquid lipstick world has blown up over the last year — formulas have been perfected, colour ranges have expanded, and brands are really listening to what consumers are looking for. So, when I heard Colourpop launched an Ultra Satin Lip formula that was supposed to by less drying, you know I had to try it out! HAIRCARE 101 + MY TIPS FOR LONG, STRONG, HEALTHY HAIR

Welcome back for another installment in my Beauty 101 series! I get a lot of questions about my hair, so today’s post covers everything I know about how to get long, strong, healthy hair. Did you know I’ve had just about every haircolour imaginable over the years — even green and purple as a teenager? In my lifetime I’ve coloured my hair with Kool Aid, Sun In (yikes… anyone else remember those days?!) and many other drugstore and professional colours. I worked at a hair salon throughout college, so I do have a good foundational knowledge of hair in addition to what I’ve learned on my own. In the past 10 years my hair has been every shade of red, blonde, ombre and brunette — it was fun to experiment and see what I liked best on myself. But all those years of colouring and heavy heat styling definitely did a number on my super fine hair! Over the years I’ve transitioned back to my natural haircolour and my hair is finally healthy again — but it’s been a long road to get here. COLOURPOP CRÈME GEL LINER PHOTOS, REVIEW, SWATCHES

Today I’m reviewing the 9 shades I own from the Colourpop Crème Gel Liner range. Currently there are 25 shades available, and I decided to pick up 9 to try out — 4 metallic shades and 5 mattes. Colourpop’s Crème Gel Liners retail at $5.00 USD for 0.01 oz., just a fraction of the cost of their high-end counterparts. As makeup-loving contact wearer with extremely sensitive eyes, I think I’m the perfect candidate to test out eyeliner! I’ve been wearing and testing them for about 4 months (since they first launched the product!) so I have a really good handle on them. If you’re looking for a great alternative to higher-end eyeliners, or want to learn more about eyeliner in general, this post is for you! BEST IN BEAUTY | OCTOBER 2015

October was truly a high-low month for beauty favourites! When it comes to beauty products (or anything, really) I don’t discriminate based on price — some $2 products work better than $100 products. Well, this month, I’ve been loving $2 lip liners, $3 cream eyeshadows, $3 nailpolish, a $4 dry shampoo, and a $95 face palette! So when I recommend a product, know that it’s not just good for the price — it’s just good, period!

I’m sharing lots of beauty bargains with you this month, and my in-depth thoughts on the extremely spendy Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette. Also, an amazing $6 contouring palette, and the perfect matte, deep berry lip. Let’s chat about beauty bargains and splurges!

BEST IN BEAUTY | AUGUST 2015

Can you believe it’s September already? It seems like this summer was shorter than most, so I’m excited to bring you one last dose of summer beauty inspiration today! August is all about sunflowers for me, so I used them to style today’s post — they’re just so bright and happy, aren’t they?! This was a busy month for me, with lots of travel, so all of these products are convenient and long wearing.

There are also a few new products I discovered — including the best mascara I’ve ever tried, a great dry shampoo for brunettes, an amazing mattifying powder that makes you look like a walking Instagram filter, and the lip gloss shade we all wore for Kelsey’s lakeside wedding! It wouldn’t be a favourites post without a few Colourpop products — and they’re having a sale right now (they never have sales)!

Today I’m chatting about my latest beauty obsession — the new Ultra Matte Lips from Colourpop! Currently there are 33 shades available, and I decided to pick up 10 from the range to try out. Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lips retail at $6.00 USD for 0.11 oz., just a fraction of the cost of their high-end counterparts. Lately, it seems like every brand is coming out with their version of a liquid lipstick, and I’m generally a fan of liquid lipstick formulas — they dry to a flat matte finish and are super long wearing. If you’re a lipstick lover (or want to learn more about liquid lipstick) this post is for you! I also have a review of 10 shades from the Ultra Satin Lip range.
