NOVEMBER BEAUTY FAVOURITES

Hey beautiful people — welcome back for the November installment of my Monthly Beauty Favourites! November was a very experimental month for me beauty wise and I discovered some amazing new products that have become staples in my everyday routine. Liquid lipsticks have become my go-to anytime I need something extremely long wearing and budgeproof — and I fell in love with two warm, mid toned neutral shades this month from Smashbox and Huda Beauty. I also discovered a fantastic new contour powder and mascara that have been on repeat all month long!

In November I had my first introduction to Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows (I think everyone should own the palette I’m about to mention!) and to Commodity‘s beautiful, cozy fragrances. To cap things off, I also have a few limited edition favourites for Holiday 2016, including a gorgeous palette from Hourglass Cosmetics and a rose quartz Pantone Colour of the Year themed highlighter (I bet you saw that one coming!). We’re home from Christmas in November at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and tonight I’m recapping our experience! What is Christmas in November, you ask? Basically, it’s a giant meeting of people who love all the same things I love — great food, wine, entertainment and seasonal inspiration. This past weekend we cooked with celebrity chefs, learned about holiday decor from industry experts, came away with tons of culinary inspiration and tasted wine from all over the world. Sounds like a good time, right? Now, imagine that experience set in a charming, rustic lodge, overlooking a serene mountain lake in a picturesque National Park. That, my friends, is what Christmas in November at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is all about! My love of fragrance extends as far back as early childhood. I’m sure most of us remember watching our mothers perched at their vanities, applying perfume — the finishing touch that completed their transformation. I was always enthralled by that process, even as a young girl. Fragrance has always had a special allure for me and over the years I’ve collected quite a few favourites. In my eyes, there’s nothing more feminine or sophisticated than a captivating scent. APPLE PIE STEEL CUT OATS WITH CANDIED MAPLE PECANS

I’m back with some beautiful, orchard-fresh Ambrosia apples, a new recipe and a grateful, renewed mindset! Happy belated Thanksgiving to my Canadian readers, I hope you all enjoyed a weekend full of family, friends, delicious food and a few good drinks. It’s been a week since my last post because I decided to take this weekend off from blogging. It was a combination of events that led me to decide another unplugged weekend was exactly what I needed (nothing serious, but I definitely needed the time away!).
