DIGITAL BLOOMS MAY 2016 | FREE TECH WALLPAPERS

Who’s ready for another installment of DIGITAL BLOOMS?! Rebecca and I are so thrilled with all the positive feedback you gave us last month! We’re happy you’re enjoying the series and excited to bring you some fresh new designs this month. May is going to be all about tulips here at JustineCelina (because who doesn’t love tulips?), so we thought it would be the perfect time create tulip-exclusive designs for May’s Digital Blooms! This month we were inspired by ombre hues and cascading patterns. Rebecca will also be chatting All About Tulips later this month (did you know there are different varieties of tulips?), so stick around if you’d like to learn more about these beauties!

If you missed last months post introducing this new series, here’s the gist — I’ve partnered with my friend and amazing flower designer Rebecca Dawn Design to bring you 3 free downloads on the 1st of each month. We’re teaming up to create some beautiful flower art inspired by seasonal flowers, foliage and a fresh colour palette! Now you can enjoy the beauty of flowers year round on the background of your computer, tablet or phone. As always, these downloads are 100% free with no strings attached. Click through to get these gorgeous tulip-based designs onto your devices!

APRIL SOUNDTRACK

Who’s ready for some fresh tunes? My April Soundtrack is huge — 4.5 hours of my favourite music from the month! April was a really busy month for me, and I love to listen to different genres of music while I work. This soundtrack is a mixture of fast paced, upbeat tunes with some chill tracks thrown into the mix as well. I rediscovered my love for Explosions in the Sky — an instrumental group that I love to listen to when I’m writing or proofing. I also checked out the new M83 album Junk and while I’m not a fan of their first single, overall the album is really good! I’ve still been using and loving Spotify this month and most of my new music discoveries have come from their Weekly Discover playlists, although I did find a few favourite new tracks via Sirius XM. My April Soundtrack is great background music to help you work, think and create!

These are a few of my favourite things and small acts of self care that don’t require a lot of time or money, but make a big difference to my mood and overall well being. UNPLUGGED

I took this weekend off from blogging. That almost never happens. If you read My 1st Blogiversary + 10 Things I Learned in my First Year of Blogging post, you’ll know that I’m pretty diligent about my twice weekly blogging schedule, which usually includes a post mid-week and one on the weekend. Well this weekend, despite my best efforts, I simply couldn’t get a post up before we left on Friday for a wedding in Saskatoon. As I ploughed through a very busy week and the weekend drew closer, I decided that what I really needed — more than rushing to get prewritten content ready to publish for a weekend that I was going to be out of town, was to completely unplug.

5 UNCONVENTIONAL SPRING LIP COLOURS

There’s just something about spring that makes me really want to experiment in the beauty department! After our long, dreary (and extremely colourless) winters here in Calgary I feel so energized and inspired by the fresh beauty of spring. It’s a time where I try a lot of new products and discover new beauty favourites. So today’s post is something a little different — I’m sharing my favourite 5 Unconventional Spring Lip Colours! Pink and peach are great standbys, but this post is all about trying something totally outside of your comfort zone. I like to keep up with what’s going on in both fashion and beauty, so today’s picks combine a bit of runway inspiration with spring beauty trends. I love affordable beauty products and am always on the hunt for the next drugstore gem — each of my recommendations today is under $20! If you’re looking for some spring beauty inspiration or some fun, on-trend spring shades, this post is for you!

SPRING SHOE ESSENTIALS

Today’s post is all about shoes! I really love shoes — I’m a bit of a shoeaholic and always have been! If you’re reading this, you probably love shoes too. I own quite a few pairs and love being able to totally change the feeling of an outfit by pairing it with different shoes. A few weekends ago I was doing my seasonal shoe rotation (swapping my winter shoes for spring and summer styles) and I got to thinking — if I had to chose only 5 pairs of shoes to transition from spring to summer, which ones would I pick? That’s what today’s post is all about! My Spring Shoe Essentials are a mixture of practical, fun, casual and dressed up — I’ve chosen 5 pairs of shoes to take you through every event and occasion. From casual flats, to the quinessential nude pump, to prints, tassels and fun pops of colour, I’ve got you covered this spring! The best part? Each pair is under $150!
