After our long, dreary (and extremely colourless) winters here in Calgary I feel so energized and inspired by the fresh beauty of spring. FEBRUARY BEAUTY FAVOURITES

I wore so many soft, rosy hues in February! My pink obsession is still going strong and last month it definitely crept its way into the beauty department. A bit of a disclaimer — since it’s my Blogiversary month (JustineCelina turned one on March 2nd!) you’ll notice a strong Rose Quartz and Serenity theme on the blog this month leading up to my celebratory post. I’m super inspired by the Pantone colours of the year, and I’ll be flooding your feeds with tons of pretty, flowery, pink and blue imagery in March. Sorry (not sorry) in advance!

I also developed a thing for deep green eyeliners, rediscovered an old standby mascara, and a multi-purpose baked highlighter. All but one of my favorites are also under $10 — I firmly believe you don’t have to spend a lot to look like a million bucks!

2015 BEAUTY FAVOURITES

If you read any of my beauty posts, read this one! Today I’m rounding up all my 2015 beauty favourites in one post. If you’ve been with me for awhile, you know I absolutely love makeup, playing with beauty products, and experimenting with different looks. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much everything — and I’m definitely very particular when it comes to what I use and like. These are the absolute best, cream-of-the-crop products that I think can work for anyone! 6 MARSALA LIPSTICKS TO TRY THIS FALL

I’ve followed Pantone for colour inspiration my entire career. If you have no idea what I’m talking about — Pantone is the global colour authority for creative industries. They provide a colour system that ensures colour translates accurately across all mediums — whether it be in fashion, print, or in design. Creatives also look to them to predict colour trends. Basically, they know what’s up — and they keep everyone in the loop!

Every year, usually in early December, they announce their colour of the year — and for 2015 it’s Marsala! Marsala has a variety of shades and interpretations, all equally gorgeous. Pantone describes Marsala as ‘a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embrace warmth’ and ‘like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness’. Pantone also cites is as ‘flattering against many skin tones, sultry and subtle Marsala is a great go-to color for beauty’. I couldn’t agree more! Marsala lips are everywhere this fall, so today I’m sharing my six favourite Marsala lipsticks in a variety of shades, finishes and price points. BEST IN BEAUTY | AUGUST 2015

Can you believe it’s September already? It seems like this summer was shorter than most, so I’m excited to bring you one last dose of summer beauty inspiration today! August is all about sunflowers for me, so I used them to style today’s post — they’re just so bright and happy, aren’t they?! This was a busy month for me, with lots of travel, so all of these products are convenient and long wearing.

There are also a few new products I discovered — including the best mascara I’ve ever tried, a great dry shampoo for brunettes, an amazing mattifying powder that makes you look like a walking Instagram filter, and the lip gloss shade we all wore for Kelsey’s lakeside wedding! It wouldn’t be a favourites post without a few Colourpop products — and they’re having a sale right now (they never have sales)!

BEST IN BEAUTY | JULY 2015

July was the month of lip products! I wore lots of different lip colours last month and generally kept things light on the eyes — one of my favourite summer looks is a bright lip with a simple eye and winger liner. Most of my favourite products last month were things that I’ve loved for a long time and rediscovered, or products I’ve rotated in for the summer because they contain SPF (try to get your SPF in wherever you can, ladies!).

I also stumbled on a couple of new products — one extremely beautiful highlighter, and a limited edition edition lipstick exclusively for Canadians that smells and tastes like Maple syrup! Cozy up with me on this stormy night in Calgary and let’s chat beauty!

BEST IN BEAUTY | JUNE 2015

I gravitated towards bright, warm hues during the month of June! Since I’ve been doing a lot of sunless tanning this month, my favourite products look great on medium and tan summer skintones. One of my all time favourite looks is a bright lip with tan skin and a clean cat eye — I wore a bright lip pretty much everyday I wore makeup.

My love affair with Colourpop continued, and I also have two favourites from Becca this month. I went back to my all-time favourite liquid eyeliner (which makes it super easy to achieve a perfect winged liner, I promise!). Get ready for a healthy dose of summer beauty recommendations!
