I’m totally obsessed with winter pastels! I’ve been going lighter, brighter and fresher in my wardrobe and personal style this winter — did you notice JustineCelina‘s mini makeover? My love for all things pastel was solidified by the Pantone 2016 Colour of the Year Announcement (check out my inspiration post for some colour trend eye candy), so today I’m sharing a pastel-themed fashion post with you! I think adding pops of pastel to your winter wardrobe is a great way to freshen up your look. So when I spotted this Moto Cocoon Coat from Banana Republic, I fell head over heels. Whenever it’s cold outside, I love to make steel cut oats for breakfast. They’re a little more time consuming to prepare, but the texture and taste are unmatched! My Winter Breakfast Bowl with Pumpkin Spice Steel Cut Oats combines warming spices with my favourite seasonal superfoods. Homemade Pumpkin Puree subtly flavours the steel cut oats, while a splash of coconut cream adds richness and decadence. December was a blur! Between preparing for holidays and then holidays themselves, December always seems to fly by so fast. Last month I traveled all over Alberta visiting family and friends, and definitely noticed myself reaching for the same products consistently. It was pretty simple for me to choose my December beauty favourites — I just had to look inside my travel makeup bag!

SPARKLING POMEGRANATE CRANBERRY SANGRIA

I really love sangria. I love it so much that sometimes my girlfriends and I are referred to as The Sangria Sisters — and I’m not mad at it! I also like to eat (and drink) as seasonally as possible, so I created this holiday sangria recipe inspired by seasonal flavours, Gatsby glam, and New Years Eve bubbly. Traditional sangria gets a luxurious makeover in my Sparkling Pomegranate Cranberry Sangria — I’m swapping wine for bubbles, and infusing the recipe with flavours of pomegranate, cranberry, orange, and ginger, plus a healthy splash of Grand Marnier to send it over the top. Enjoy this sangria at your holiday parties, or to ring in the New Year, because as the great F. Scott Fitzgerald said, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right.” Cheers!
