October was truly a high-low month for beauty favourites! When it comes to beauty products (or anything, really) I don’t discriminate based on price — some $2 products work better than $100 products. Well, this month, I’ve been loving $2 lip liners, $3 cream eyeshadows, $3 nailpolish, a $4 dry shampoo, and a $95 face palette! So when I recommend a product, know that it’s not just good for the price — it’s just good, period!

I’m sharing lots of beauty bargains with you this month, and my in-depth thoughts on the extremely spendy Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette. Also, an amazing $6 contouring palette, and the perfect matte, deep berry lip. Let’s chat about beauty bargains and splurges!

I absolutely love fall makeup, and transitioning into darker, richer shades. Fall colours are my favourite to wear! During September I rediscovered my favourite powder eyeshadows from Makeup Geek (who makes the best quality eyeshadows at any price point, but these just happen to be $6 each!). I picked up some new goodies from e.l.f. Cosmetics (another inexpensive brand with awesome products) and found a holy grail setting powder and some beautiful berry-toned blushes. I also found the perfect daytime berry lip. Let’s chat about fall beauty products!

BEST IN BEAUTY | AUGUST 2015

Can you believe it’s September already? It seems like this summer was shorter than most, so I’m excited to bring you one last dose of summer beauty inspiration today! August is all about sunflowers for me, so I used them to style today’s post — they’re just so bright and happy, aren’t they?! This was a busy month for me, with lots of travel, so all of these products are convenient and long wearing.

There are also a few new products I discovered — including the best mascara I’ve ever tried, a great dry shampoo for brunettes, an amazing mattifying powder that makes you look like a walking Instagram filter, and the lip gloss shade we all wore for Kelsey’s lakeside wedding! It wouldn’t be a favourites post without a few Colourpop products — and they’re having a sale right now (they never have sales)!

BEST IN BEAUTY | JULY 2015

July was the month of lip products! I wore lots of different lip colours last month and generally kept things light on the eyes — one of my favourite summer looks is a bright lip with a simple eye and winger liner. Most of my favourite products last month were things that I’ve loved for a long time and rediscovered, or products I’ve rotated in for the summer because they contain SPF (try to get your SPF in wherever you can, ladies!).

I also stumbled on a couple of new products — one extremely beautiful highlighter, and a limited edition edition lipstick exclusively for Canadians that smells and tastes like Maple syrup! Cozy up with me on this stormy night in Calgary and let’s chat beauty!

It’s that time of the month again (well, not that time of the month… but you know what I mean)! May was a mix of new finds and old favourites that I rediscovered — and they’re mostly at a drugstore price point. I also attended a few parties and weddings this month, and finally found the perfect lashes and lash glue! Hey guys! Today I’m sharing April’s most loved beauty products. Overall, I was into cooler tones (which is strange for me!). Since I have warm colouring and green eyes, I tend to favour warm colours on both the eyes and lips — last month I gravitated towards purples and cooler neutrals overall. I also played around with lots of different eye looks, eyeliner and eyeshadow. Let’s chat beauty!
