HOW TO STYLE | JUMPSUITS

It’s that magical time of year in Calgary. Flowers are still in bloom, the weather is mild and the leaves are just starting to yellow. I can’t complain about September’s temperatures so far (we enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio right after we shot this post), but there’s a definite crispness in the air and a few crunchy leaves at my feet. I personally love this time of year, especially for fashion. And while I’m not quite ready to embrace autumn’s knits, boots and scarves, I’ve been pairing my summer favourites with lighter layers and a more autumnal colour palette during this transitional month. Today’s post is another installment in my HOW TO STYLE series — where I’m chatting about how to style jumpsuits and culotte silhouettes. I’m also sharing a few tips on how I like to transition more summery pieces like jumpsuits, maxis and rompers into autumn! Come hang out with me today for a dose of 70’s inspired glam and some casual autumn elegance.

DIGITAL BLOOMS SEPTEMBER 2016 | FREE TECH WALLPAPERS

Can you believe it’s already September 1st? It seems like summer is just flying by this year. Having said that, I’m looking forward to welcoming fall later this month! I’m also very excited to share autumn themed flower content in partnership with Rebecca Dawn Design with you over the coming months — seriously you guys, I can’t wait to publish it!

To kick off the first month of a new season, September’s DIGITAL BLOOMS incorporate some of late summer and early autumn’s prettiest flowers and foliage. Our 3 flower-based designs are inspired by the wild beauty of Indian summers and a palette of eggplant, terracotta, marsala, apricot, blush, cream and fresh greens. We’re also introducing to some brand new seasonal blooms into this series — including Stock, Eremurus, Dalihas, Astilbe, Chrysanthemums, Thlaspi and Cotinus. Rebecca and I have an educational post all about early autumn flowers hitting JustineCelina later this month, but for now you can enjoy them on the background of your computer, tablet or phone — absolutely free!

My August Soundtrack is a 3 hour playlist full of good vibes and my favourite late summer tunes! I discovered so many new artists, as well as a few new songs from bands I’ve listened to for a long time (like RAC). A few standout tracks this month include Even by Gold Spectacles, Catch the Rider by The Dubarrys, A Minute or Two by Cider Sky, Choose You Twice by Ben Zaidi, Young, Naive & Reckless by Grace Wood, Closer by Halsey & The Chainsmokers, Box Wine by The Foxies and Method Acting by Work Drugs (a band I first heard last month). BLUEBERRY LEMON AND CUCUMBER GIN MOJITOS

I hope you guys aren’t getting sick of collaborative content, because today’s post is a collaboration with a good blogging chum of mine, Dana over atΒ  Killing Thyme. Dana’s blog may sound familiar because I’ve mentioned it a few times here at JustineCelina! Dana and I met last year through The Food Bloggers of Canada and you could say we became fast blogging friends — we clicked right away. I love Dana’s zest for life that’s wildly apparent in her content, her voice and authenticity, her generosity, and of course, her fantastic recipes and culinary knowledge! You see, Dana has been at this whole blogging thing a lot longer than I have and she’s always been so supportive of what I’m doing. In short, she’s a an absolute gem and I’m sure you’ll love her content and her blog just as much as I do! Pop over to check out my guest post and grab the recipe for my Blueberry Lemon and Cucumber Gin Mojitos.

So, when she asked if I’d be up for a guest post on her site, I jumped at the opportunity! You see, we both love a great cocktail, so I knew my Blueberry Lemon and Cucumber Gin Mojitos would be a perfect fit! They combine sweet blueberries with refreshing lemon, cucumber and mint with a healthy dose of gin and a splash of soda water for just the right amount of sparkle. These late summer sipper are free of refined sugars and made with all natural ingredients β€” so the next time you’re craving a cooling summer cocktail, indulge yourself with a fresh twist on the classic mojito! Cheers to sharing the love, to new blogs and new friends!

This July I fell in love with a gorgeous new summer fragrance from Givenchy, discovered a budget friendly liquid eyeliner that rivals my high end favourite, wore my new Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks to death and found the perfect coral lip liner to go with them!

It was a pretty low-key month for be beauty wise and I tended towards pairing bolder lip colors with a simple winged eye — which is one of my favourite summer looks. I also used my favourite eyeshadows from Makeup Geek almost everyday! If you’re looking for great summer beauty and fragrance recommendations, stay tuned for a healthy mix of drugstore and high end discoveries.
