COLOURPOP ULTRA MATTE LIP PHOTOS, REVIEW, SWATCHES

Today I’m chatting about my latest beauty obsession — the new Ultra Matte Lips from Colourpop! Currently there are 33 shades available, and I decided to pick up 10 from the range to try out. Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lips retail at $6.00 USD for 0.11 oz., just a fraction of the cost of their high-end counterparts. Lately, it seems like every brand is coming out with their version of a liquid lipstick, and I’m generally a fan of liquid lipstick formulas — they dry to a flat matte finish and are super long wearing. BEST IN BEAUTY | JULY 2015

July was the month of lip products! I wore lots of different lip colours last month and generally kept things light on the eyes — one of my favourite summer looks is a bright lip with a simple eye and winger liner. Most of my favourite products last month were things that I’ve loved for a long time and rediscovered, or products I’ve rotated in for the summer because they contain SPF (try to get your SPF in wherever you can, ladies!).

I also stumbled on a couple of new products — one extremely beautiful highlighter, and a limited edition edition lipstick exclusively for Canadians that smells and tastes like Maple syrup! Cozy up with me on this stormy night in Calgary and let’s chat beauty!

PAULA’S CHOICE RESIST HYALURONIC ACID BOOSTER REVIEW

Today I’m reviewing a new skincare item from Paula’s Choice — their Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster (spoiler alert — I love it!). If you’re unfamiliar with Hyaluronic Acid, basically it’s a skin-identical ingredient that helps to boost skin’s moisture content, plump skin and smooth wrinkles. I’ve been using the Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster mixed with my eye cream for just over a month now — and wow, what a difference it’s made!

BEST IN BEAUTY | JUNE 2015

I gravitated towards bright, warm hues during the month of June! Since I’ve been doing a lot of sunless tanning this month, my favourite products look great on medium and tan summer skintones. One of my all time favourite looks is a bright lip with tan skin and a clean cat eye — I wore a bright lip pretty much everyday I wore makeup.

My love affair with Colourpop continued, and I also have two favourites from Becca this month. I went back to my all-time favourite liquid eyeliner (which makes it super easy to achieve a perfect winged liner, I promise!). Get ready for a healthy dose of summer beauty recommendations!

BEST IN BEAUTY | MAY 2015

It’s that time of the month again (well, not that time of the month… but you know what I mean)! May was a mix of new finds and old favourites that I rediscovered — and they’re mostly at a drugstore price point. I also attended a few parties and weddings this month, and finally found the perfect lashes and lash glue! SLEEPING BEAUTIES

I’m very excited to share a soft and pretty boudoir shoot I styled in collaboration with Gabe McClintock; a brilliant, award-winning photographer based in Calgary. It’s also been featured by Junebug Weddings and The Calgary Bride — what an honour!

I’d worked with Gabe previously on a few styled shoots, so when he came to me with a different idea for a boudoir shoot, I was so excited to partner with him and help bring his vision to life! Together, we created images that were ethereal, feminine and raw — something unique and fresh in the boudoir category. I curated a wardrobe of vintage lingerie in soft, winter-inspired pastel hues with romantic lace accents and whimsical details.
